Who is responsible!?

Flammenwerfer fox

Professional scum hunter
Alright, there's no denyin' it, the SF series has gone down hill. This thread is to discuss when, how and why, and to talk about how they can be fixed and how they could've been avoided.

Also, you can consider this the unofficial beat-it-up thread. So feel free to bash any of the games as long as you give some sort of reason for your opinion.

Wasn't around for snes, but played it. It was a good go.
64 was the best.
Adventures is good for ages 0-0
Assault was a okay comeback, but need more.
Command reflected Assault in the way, but ultimately shut down the series.
Snes 2 was awesome, but I'm glad it wasn't released.

Overall, the only thing that can save the series is a reboot. *not re-new though*
I still would like the same characters, only better games.

Whichever one came out for the DS was (IMO) the one that killed the series the most. Adventures was a good atempt, but it failed to capture the Starfox charm that the 64 had. Assault was also really good, but more missions and a better storyline (not the same old "kill the queen" storyline) needed a change. I really liked the ground battles add on for Assault, but there was no "burning lava planet" or "underwater missions" that added to the variety that made SF64 so popular. As long as they don't release another slaughter game like the DS's one, add more missions, and more variety, then a "good" reboot is entirely possible.

Muhaaa ha ha ha, another person that liked the on-ground missions! But the on ground missions could use more "modern day shooter" layout. Not the "Go destroy the hatchers to release the big hatchers and then the bigger hatchers ect ect ect. (Like halo, Gaw or Cod. Not first person, of course)

Command never happened :3
Reboot ftw!

Imho Star Fox Command was a step into the right direction.

Maybe that's the problem. I liked it, because in my eyes it went a step back a to the roots. Maybe that worked better for players of the SNES game, than all the other players.

That's just a guess though...

It's Adventures Fault.

The End.

If Adventures never happened we wouldn't have plot holes the size of of a pit-bull breeding dogs back side.

Though I like Adventures I agree that it was the first game to mess up Star Fox's story, but the problem I see right now is that everyone wants to continue the screwed up story. The thing is that no Nintendo series has been bound by prequel plot. The only thing that seemed to drag on from adventures was Krystal and Sauria which are love hate plot holes in the series. Now I actually think about the ending with Marcus and think that having telepathic abilities while flying the Arwing would be interesting because you would know when and where some enemies would show up. I just can't get over the fact that Marcus is basically Fox with blue fur. This kind of makes me hate that ending because it is dropping fox for a character that is basically the same in attitude and ambition. The fact that Miyamoto mentioned that he was concerned for the series might mean that he plans to revamp it so a new crowd could enjoy it, so the possibility of Marcus is probably going to be higher in the next official Star Fox game. Just look for it at E3 or TGS sometime in the next year or so. I'm sure Miyamoto wants to bring it back because older series are being revamped right and left by Nintendo. Look at Mother and Kid Icarus for example Mother 3 which is not in America yet might be coming to the DS some time in the future, and Kid Icarus has been popping its head out every once in a while. Just hope Nintendo makes Star Fox Wii/HD sometime soon.

Ultimately, Star Fox Adventures was the beginning of the downfall, but command killed it. If Nintendo admits command never happened and we go back to blasting up the Venomians and make sure Star Wolf NEVER EVER HELPS US AGAIN, it'd be possible to continue with the story we have now.

And Flammenwerfer, you need to get AIM since my PMs have been limited to 1 every 30 minutes.

Yeah, I was like "WTF, I want to KILL Wolf, not buddy up with him!"

And what the heck is with the limitation of PMs? I've only asked an SoL member about the game like once, to Brock but I'm not sure if I really did. And when it comes to PMs, those are big with me because I'm a social guy and I like to talk to people.

Did you bug a team member Cobra?

Ok, I just ran into that new feature myself, HUGE INCONVINIENCE. I'd urge whoever did that to reconsider that. There are tons of interesting people here to talk to and befriend, and this PM restriction thing is major hindrance. I mean, yeah, I send out a lot of PMs to people, but most of those are to my friends. And when it's not to one of my friends, I don't bombard them with messages, I take a hint, I know when to leave people be.

The PM thing is temporary while we deal with the plague of PM spambots we've been getting lately.

Ok, thanks for giving me an answer. It's a huge pain.

Gosh I hope it ends soon.

EDIT: Ok everyone continue this thread like this little episode didn't happen, alright?

Cobra, I think It might of been my fault. I didn't like having a gajillion of your messages on my profile and I tried to delete them. But it kept giving me the response as if I was deleting them b/c of spam. I know you weren't spamming me I just didn't want so many of you messages on my profile I:

Now, according to the Game-Warden Forums machine, you are a spammer. woops!
Or maybe not. *shrugs*

It's no one's faults except the spammers (who definitely aren't members of this community). The limit on PMs are global and only a few people (like admins who are in a separate usergroup) aren't going to be affected by them.

Hopefully we can keep the restrictions in place for a short a time as possible.

its your mom's fault.
