for me
the GTF Apollo, the best space superiority fighter evaar. Can fit lots of shit as well as have a good shield.
the GTF Valkyrie because speed is important, and iirc it can get to like 100m/s with the right energy settings making it the BEST interceptor
the GTF Erinyes because firepower is also important. Nothing beats shooting down bad guys in 1-3 volleys.

Only canon spacecraft have been included. The poll is not limited to FS2, you can see many spacecraft which appeared only in FS1 (Scorpion, Valkyrie, Shaitan...). :)
 
FS1 strikecraft look like serious business, where I always found FS2 ships to be fanciful. Craft like the Herc I, Apollo or Medusa are the kind of iconic designs that stand up against other verse's fighters.
 
aghhh.. the perseus is wining again, GO LOKI! let's show them what does the word nimble means.
 
"Everyone" is less than half the number of voters. Once again, the community fails at using the term (no offense, it's a funny thing if you get the reference). :p

Well, without mixing personal opinion with facts, I think the Perseus has a shape that makes it closer to airplanes and other starfighters people get to see during their life. Many common spacecraft, like the Myrmidon and Ulysses, have "particular" designs which may not attract the attention of new gamers. Just to mention my personal experience, at the beginning I thought the Myrmidon was weird because it "flied backwards"...

EDIT: I am more concerned at how Shivan designs seem to be underestimated. Either the number of voters who appreciate them is very, very low or the people who voted felt like considering only the spacecraft they got to fly and appreciate.

Also, can someone please the poll's question? The "you" part should be "your"...

I prefer the following ships:

GTF Ares

I like it. It has huge energy reserves, high armour and shielding and it is simple more a Hercules successor than the Hercules Mk. II itself.


GVF Horus

I often used it back in multiplayer. It is extremely fast and if you fly it well it is very difficult to hit with missles and lasers. Sure, the weapon energy and secondary capacity is low in comparsion to many other fighters, but it is enough to kill any opponent in a multiplayer match.


SF Mara

It is a very good fighter, high agility, high speed and good capacity for primary and secondary weapons. i think it's nearly overpowered as a player ship. it has only few weaknesses.

From what I've flown I liked the Mara mainly because of the amount of speed you could get, once you increase all the power to your engines, you can get a speedy getaway. The Perseus is my main fighter though. The Pegasus is one of my faves because of the design. :P
