Lord of the Flies
Alright, you guys probably think I'm a noob because I've only got a couple of posts so far, but after some thought and concideration, I decided that this franchise is good enough to spawn a movie. This would be unofficial, since Nintendo holds all the legal stuff, but since they aren't taking legal action against Shadows of Lylat, they probably won't take action against this.

There have been many attempts to make a Star Fox movie, and most have been unsucessful. But I will try my hardest.

I will be the Executive Producer of this project. I will need a director, producer, etc. I am working on a script, but I am willing to consider other scripts to be used.

This won't be some stupid flash movie made with crappy effects, this will actually be good. I don't want to rip off the Shadows of Lylat team or anything, but I will need animators. I can't pull this off alone, because if I did, this would go nowhere. I can't pay anyone either, for I am not making this for profit, I'm making it for Star Fox fans everywhere.

If this is the wrong place to post this, please let me know. I will post it somewhere else if need be.

The plot will be based off the original 1993 game and Star Fox 64 with new elements added.

If you are interested, please post and/or PM me.

Errrm... I don't like that statement. We're doing this on our own risk. They can still force us to stop working on SoL.

You really shouldn't justify using this franchise with this.

And keep this in mind: SoL's target group are PC gamers. Many PC gamers never even heard anything about "StarFox", which is a shame, because the SuperFX chip was a big step into 3d gaming and therefore important for all gamers. I hope some of them will get interested in the franchise by SoL.
We're not entering Nintendo/Namco's world by trying to do anything for a console. (Well, actually we can't do that anyway. The engine will never get ported to a console).
And to be honest, I was quite depressed that there were almost no StarFox fan games out there. Remembering how "big" the SNES game was, it's hard to believe that there aren't more active fans out there...

Anyway, I don't see a reason for them to stop a non-profit fan movie, unless a big fan project wave comes up now...

BTW the idea of making a movie was suggested before by a visitor.
I'm involved in too many projects... I really don't have any time left for this.

If this is a commercial venture and word gets out, I'm sure you would hear from Nintendo's lawyers.

If it is not, they are likely to leave you alone provided you don't cause product confusion.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere on Nintendo's site that they are fine with people using their properties for noin-commercial purposes so long as you don't cause confusion.

I'll be doing CG/3d Animation in a year or so, provided I survive this one. However, much of my effort will be put on this mod and the myriad personal projects I wish to undertake and/or have already undertaken, with out mentioning any others that would make this sentence even more egregiously run on. A few do involve 3d animation, though.

Who knows.

Well, this isn't exactly commericial, so I guess it would be okay. Anyway, I know yaguara posted something similar, but he never really replied back, so I'm planning on being commited to this. You don't have to be directly involved if you don't have time. You can be creative sonsultants if you hich, which are people who suggest ideas for the script. If you can help, it'd be great :)

Also, if anyone like DaBrain and DZComposer wish to view the scipt, I'll PM it to them if they wish,

Here's a teaser poster. Yeah, I know it's a screenshot from SF64, but here it is:

Sounds fun to me. I have taken a few media production and broadcasting classes, and i know how to edit, even on the retro Ovios or bay to bay systems >.> I prefer Pinacle for PC use, an Final Cut Studio Pro for Mac when it comes to editing. I would be willing to help anyway I can.

Sorry, But pinacle studios is nothing compared to the adobe software, That's amazing, you can add such efects as lasers and 3D objects, Although, let me tell you, It is certainly not easy!

That is true, but I still have not found anything to beat Final Cut Pro for Mac. It's extremely powerful and simple to use for the beginner even. Main reason I use Pinacle on my PC is because its fast...wich is great for news reports and stuff with very prompt deadlines.

Heh. If that's true, I could probably figure out how to use Final Cut Pro in a week or two. Course, at this point, I'd need to get the Intel/UB version, but eh.

... Actually, I'll probably end up getting it anyway for school at some point. So, patience on my part...

Yea.. it wasn't that hard to learn, but the mac version was more stable and rendered a bit faster.

doesn't sound like a good idea (from a legal standpoint, or a quality standpoint)

yeah this might be illegal... what about starfox 64 movie? how will you get tha multiple routes to work? will you have to release more than i disk?

IM DEFINATLY IN:
i love any star fox thing anytime any place i would be more then happy to help with the sounds by producing it and if i could the story line, plots and most of all THE LINES (SCRIPT) a movie is a great idea and i just started this site cause of all this star fox fan work so im tryin to get as much out of it as i can. so im more then ready to help if i get the green lite and told wat to do

Don't mistake silence for approval... kinda what I live by.

Also, I don't REALLY think a StarFox movie could get off the ground without it being entirely CGI or digital, but good luck!

This thread makes me lol.

You know what makes me LOL is that 'Coming Soon Poster'

Talk about LOLish photoshop skillz.

Now don't get me wrong if a group of people with serious conviction and skillz got together and did this thats great. I would make sure your project leader knows what he is doing though. If you don't it will either turn out to be the biggest joke or not turn out like it so far has.

I want to get involved. I truly do. If I could get my webcam mic working, I could try my luck at voice acting. I'm only 14, and male, so my character choices are limited, but I can try. I can also try to make a better coming soon poster.
