• Since we're having an issue with spam and very few people use this website, I've closed Game-Warden to new user registrations. Any FS2, BtRL, SoL, etc questions can be directed to HLP instead.

Can't connect to FS2NetD Server

Hi,
I can't connect to the FS2NetD server :(... I've got the right .cfg files in the multidata and C:\Games\freespace\data folders and I've typed in me multiplayer account name and password in correctly in the multiplayer options, but when I click on the mission door, it keeps coming up, "Failed to connect to the FS2NetD Server!". I'll using FS2open 3.6.10. Can anyone help since I would like to really get online and multiplay against you guys ;)

Try deleting the .cfg files. FS2_Open 3.6.10 doesn't need them by default but might show behaviour like that if you've got the wrong ones.
 
Ever since the server crashed a few days ago some people have been reporting random problems. I will check to see if there is any relation
 
I'm still getting those same error. My version of Fs_Open3.6.10 is up-to-date and i've deleted the .cfg files for FS2NetD. Could it be a server fault then or am I missing something reallllly simple :nervous: Another thing though, when you type your name and password in the multiplayer settings menu in fs2, do i need to type in an IP address or does the cfg that 3.6.0 has places that data in automatically?
 
You need PXO turned on and your username and password. No IP address. That is for playing via direct connect.

Do you have a multi.cfg file in your fs2\data folder? If so remove that.

Thanks people, that seems to of sorted it now! :) :) :), it only stops at "autojoining public channel". Almost there now...
 
actually strike that. It works. Just need to find a pilot or a hundred to multi with.

hi...Ive had the same issue as the above... followed everything you said above...

same 3.6.10 (newest) build and all... I get the 'verifying user' thing..then "login fail" msg...

i use exactly same name password as i do to log into this web site... had registered at fs2netd.com too...i can log in over there...but no go in game... i tried to have them send me another email...'re-register' thing..nothing shos up at my email box....

when i looked deeper at fs2netd.com..seems to point that i'm not 'activated'...thus no show in game? humm....

please any help folks??

sorry if it sounds confused above... :) i def am...
 
NEVERMIND!!!

thx...silly me..the activation emails went to my spam folder... didnt see the floder till now..found the emails..activated my account...and bingo...can get to game lobby now!!!! sweet!!!
