Project Hosting Request: Neo-Terra Victorious

It's not possible. I've run this by the other admins and not heard anyone say we should let this go ahead yet. So since it's going to have to be me or DaBrain who have to deal with this nonsense and neither of us are interested in spending the time on it, I'm saying no. Not unless Matt comes back and overrules me.

It's for much the same reason we didn't want ED moving. We simply don't want the hosted projects playing musical chairs all the bloody time. How long would NTV be on this board before you show a similar display of immaturity here, get banned and then get forced to move again?

What if you decided GW was dead and wanted to move back to HLP 6 months later?

Let's face it, you're not asking for hosting of a new projects. You're asking for hosting of an existing project which has become slightly more difficult to work on at HLP because the project lead has ignored numerous warnings and gone and gotten himself banned from all of the public forums.

Yeah, you sound like a real asset to Game-Warden.

I'd like to hear from MatthewPapa himself. Although you are a legitimate member of GW's and I respect you for your efforts on HLP and GW, the fact that you also are an HLP administrator who has taken part to the recent events makes your reply sound a bit... obvious (no offense, but that's what I think).

I won't be moving NTV back to HLP. I have specified what I'm going to do on HLP for time being here, so I exclude from now that I'll be getting back.

I'm waiting. :)

A rejection from GW wouldn't mean returning to HLP - I don't know if you have noticed it, but I have the impression that forcing a rejection here means bringing NTV back to Hard-Light. This is not true. Even if Sectorgame and FSMods refuse to host the project, I know a 3 years old private forum which will be sufficient to handle the development. The point is, do HLP and GW's administrators really want to force NTV to lurk somewhere before the release? Why wouldn't NTV help a site like GW or SG with more activity? This is the whole point of the discussion.

Hosting NTV here would, at least, help this site (to some extent). I'm not as dependent on attention and posing as other devs who work on other projects are, so moving to a private forum and minimizing public attivity is a serious possibility. For pretty much the same reason, NTV will not move back to HLP should GW/SG be declared dead.

I still need to talk with Galemp, though, so there's a concrete possibility of remaining on HLP if he manages to convince me.

Feel free to move it where ever you like but as far as I'm concerned that won't be here.

If you can't act like a rational adult on HLP then you probably can't act like one here and I have no desire to set up with hosting if you can't.

I trust Kara's judgement

I just dont have the time to read through all of the threads that were involved in this over at HLP so I will go with that ruling

MatthewPapa, the NTV team has made a definitive choice - the project will remain on HLP.

EDIT: For the ones who are wondering what happened in the past week, MatthewPapa has contacted me for possible GW hosting. The need to find a solution resulted in the creation of a poll on HLP (it's not public, it's on NTV internal). 33.3% of the voters accepted the move while the remaining 67.7% did not accept it. Ergo, NTV will remain on Hard-Light Productions (but may have its promotional thread here as well).

Well hopefully we can put that whole asinine idea away and get on with work.

I also find it pretty funny that you specify out to one decimal place that you have 101% of a team.

Battuta: That's what the poll on HLP reported. It's a bit bogus, but I guessed posting percentages was much more appropriate than compiling a detailled list showing who voted what. Also, try to watch the trolling because you're the only person here who's not behaving properly.

EDIT: And I definitely don't like how you are offending the person who's doing most of the job for NTV. You're not encouraging anyone.

Karajorma: It happened via PM on July 27th, and the thread on internal was created soon afterwards.

Do I need to be a moderator to find that post an offense ("asinine idea")? I don't think so. And you're not a moderator here, either, so I don't really understand what you're up to.

At this point, I think this thread should be locked. It served its purpose and additional replies aren't going to add anything useful to the discussion.

The idea was, in my opinion, not a great one. The fact that that offends you does not make it trolling. Trolling is the intentional deployment of offensive statements in order to derail or inflame discussion. I've said nothing dispositional about you, and in fact I'm a bit peeved that I never get a response to all my compliments about INFASA recently. :P

I agree, however, the thread should be locked. Given that Game Warden was never going to host NTV anyway it's doubly silly.

Ask the admins why I can't reply to your compliments on INF's public board and I can't even post updates regarding the current status of the object.

It's pretty simple. You acted like an idiot in public on HLP and thus are prevented from posting in public on HLP so that no one else has to see you act like an idiot in public.

You were well aware that acting like an idiot could result in you being monkeyed and exactly what this would mean regarding your ability to post publicly. You've been warned already about the cost similar behaviour will have here on GW so don't even think of blaming the HLP admins for your own inability to act responsibly.

May God bless ModDB, then.

Karajorma - Edited back to the way it was when I replied. The rest can be dealt with in PM.

If you're going to act the same way on there, they'll need it.

Anyway, I'm locking this thread cause apparently you have no self restraint and are going to keep pushing until you leave the admins on this board with no choice except to ban you.
