Now it's time for Earth Defense version.

Now imagine a mission that you'd love to see in Earth Defense mod? Are you done? Now tell us what did you imagine and we'll try to FRED something that's close to it.

In the exchange you'll get screenshots and possibly movie from that mission and you'll obviously get a chance to play it with our first release!

My idea for a mission:

The briefing should say something about establishing a forward base of supplies and using desolated base(after repairs of course!) as a supply stock/crew chambers and so on. Command should warn the pilots that the asteroid belt is not monitored by sensors, due to the proximity of the sun. The whole place can be described as a base set to watch the belt from possible incursions, but sometime after deployment, the base was bought by trading operation, due to lack of danger, then left behind.

Starts as a patrol mission around destroyed base (arcadia or whatever). Base itself is located in debris field. 5-8k from should be an asteroird belt. Sun should be big (4 or 5 size methinks), andglowing from the direction of asteroid belt. It's a cause of radar malfunctions.

Player, as a part of interceptor wing, patrols the area. First some waypoints around the station and debris field. Then, from the station should send a transmission:
St.: Interceptors, identify yourselves!
Wingman1: Station, this is Alfa wing from squadron whatever, acting under orders of [fraction_player's_in], the legitimate authority here. Identify yourself station.
St.: Alfa, leave the area.
WM1: Station, don't try our patience.
St.: Alfa, leave the area or we'll use fire.
WM2: Oh yeah? From what? That destroyed Arcadia, or that destroyed turrets?
WM1: Can it, ensign.

Now, from the station should launch a wing of old/retired fighters. They should close in on Alfa, and send their transmission.

OldFighter1: Hey, shiny cowboys, leave the place or we'll smash your "brand-new" fighters.
WM1: Listen, I don't know if you're all retarded or crazy, but I can call in reinforcements at any time. Do you really want...
St.: Falcons! Shivans incoming!

2k from the scene a Shivan cruiser should be spawned (as if it was going from the asteroid field)

OF2: Crap! Disperse!

Fighters start dodging and shooting the cruiser. when it has like 5-10 HP, it should send a transmission(like "bzzzt").


WM4: The hell was that?!
OF3: Probably malfunction caused by OUR GUNS, you moron.

The old story begins again...:

St.: Alfa, leave the area, you're atracting hostiles.
WM1: Negative station, I'm calling in backup. You should leave. NOW.
OF2: You're not getting our station!

Warphole opens, terran corvette warps in.
Corv: Hello there Falc... What the?! You dirty backstabbers! All guns, open fire on the traitors!
OF4: Aw, hell.

Cv starts shooting with flaks

St.: We're getting outta here! Falcons cover us!

Station launches transporter (Elysium-like), Cv charges up a beam and swiftly vaporizes it.

OF1: NO! Falcons, run!

Now the funny stuff begins: Falcons warp out, and corvette turns around to face Alfa. in that moment, at the flank of the ship spawns shivan corvette("Dark"). Facing the terran corvette and smashing into it! Both ships explode.

WM1: What the... hell...
WM3: I think I don't understand...
WM2: I liked that.
WM3&1: What?!
WM2: Well, I like shiny things.

Terran cruiser "Defender" warps in.

TC: The cavalry arrived... what the...? Did you call reinforcements to clear out the debris?
WM1: You won't believe what just happened here.
WM2: BUT IT WAS GREAT!
WM3: Shut up! Ensigns...


But then, in the same place, where a while ago a little cruiser was spawned , now 2 wings of fighters and 1 of bombers should appear.

WM3: Bombers! Defend the cruiser!
WM1: How long till you can jump, "Defender"?
TC: We won't make it before they get here!
WM1: Alfa! Let's get those bombers!

Battle starts, then, when everything looks awfully grim, Falcons warp-in
F1: "I hope everything's OK..."
F3: "Shivans! Get'em!"

After the shivans are destroyed(this wings were a result of detected shivan transmission), Alfa gets an order to go back to base, "Defender" stays on post. Falcons run away.

Debriefing should explain couple of things, like:

Good job, Alfa.

We're a bit worried about Shivans here. We didn't expect their presence. Hell, no one expected their presence here! Good job on taking them out. The cruiser was probably a scout ship, then it called in reinforcements. The corvette arrived first and crashed that Terran ship... well, I guess even Shivans can't skip phisics. Sun this close makes everything difficult.

It's not good though, that the fighters didn't arrive at the same time. And I don't mean that I'd like them to smash into that base, but that means, that in the belt a destroyer, carrier is located.
Now, the Terrans. We don't have any idea about who those "Falcons" were, or that corvette. Analitics suggest that they were some small-time smugglers.
But here? Well, it doesn't really matter.

You are relieved.

Hm...I personally like missions were you have to fight for any centimetre in the area. Something like the mission "King's Gambit" or "Sicilian Defense".

Maybe I'll continue with this thing. So, GTVA sends out a scout team to the asteroid belt. They return bloodied up and startled. Turns out in the asteroid belt is located a destroyer, protected by two cruisers and fuckload of fighters. But our forces unfortunately don't have any big ships to spare, so they decide a surgeon strike is necessary. GTVA dudes agree to sortie three wings of bombers and two of fighters, and the "Defender" from previous mission.

The mission takes place in dense asteroid field. In the middle of it we have mr. Destroyer, and on his flanks cruisers. Around them 5 fighter wings are patrolling the area. The idea behind operation is simple: player (should be forced into bomber), as a part of alpha wing, is sortied behind the destroyer(Alpha wing in the most powerful bombers with best bombs, beta and gamma less powerful) and starts bombing the bastard (you could here do something like, because you're in the blind spot of the destroyer, it can't shoot you for a couple of seconds then it establishes link with other ships and... you catch my drift). In the middle of the fight, you can also include a kamikaze bomber. Not the HoL type though, I mean like "Can't steer anymore, controls are fried, aaaaa!" and smashes into destroyer's engines, shutting them down. Destroying engines should be an objective one way or another (if you don't use kamikaze, then do an objective). Beta and Gamma warp in near their respective targets and bomb them to hell. Then, they should start escaping, and each should be followed by 2 wings of fighters. then, from the side should spawn our fighters (one wing of fighters per one wing of A.I. bombers) and start killing the bastards(some event help to weaken shivan fighters would be welcome, methinks).

When the destroyer is 20% "Defender" should go in, and finish it. Of course, every wing of shivan fighters could have two waves to ensure everything is cool and shiny. Maybe even including one sortie of "spare" GTVA fighters. For example, If more than three of our fighters are destroyed, then you should get access to reinforcements "Delta Wing". But! if you call them in, in the debriefing should be stated something along the lines of "Delta wing was the last one near our supply station, some of the shivan fighters were on the way to it, and destroyed two freighters. Next time, think more before calling reinforcements." It should be also stated in briefing, that delta wing is the only defense of the station.

„Nothing new in Sol…“
The Briefing should tell you something about the Shivans and their motivs. What those should be could you write out.:D It should also tell you about the situation of the GTC Cutter. You have to save the Cutter untill it’s evacuationship, the GTFr *Name* (I didn’t found a name for that one:)) comes to take it to a station in the near of their position.
But as you want to check out the area, there is no cruiser.

Alpha 3: “Command? There is no cruiser. There’s NOTHING!”

Command: “You are in the right sector and position. Are you sure there is nothing?”

Alpha 3: “I told you. You heard me right?”

Command: “Yes I heard you. Stay there and wait for orders.”

Alpha 2: “Scary.”

Alpha 3: “Stupid.”

Alpha 4: “Cut the chatter guys! We still got a job to do!”

After finishing that sentence, two wings of shivan fighters (you can decide which class of fighters) warp in and attacks you and your wing.

Alpha 3: “And here is our job. At least, there is nothing boring!”

Command: “Engage the enemy fighters and destroy them!”

Alpha 3: “No, let’s wait untill they are here and can shoot at us – Of course we engage and destroy!”

So you do your job and kill all of the fighters. Just a moment after that fight, Command told you that the GTVA send a team to search the Cutter.

Alpha 2: “So we can fly home?”

Alpha 3: “Please!” *Sounds ironic*

Command: “No! There are more Shivan units in the area! Wait for more orders!”

A Shivan cruiser of the Shax class warps together with three wings of Shivan fighters in.

Alpha 3: “We are gonna die if we stay longer here!”

Alpha 2: “That fighters aren’t the problem. We need some reinforcements to destroy that cruiser!”

Command: “Epsilon wing will arrive soon! Protect them from the shivan wings!”

A wing of Hera bombers arrives and it’s leader tells you:

Epsilon 1: “Epsilon wing here. Engaging now. Alpha protect us from those bandits!”

So you do. Finally you can destroy all of the Shivan ships. Shortly later, a GTF Agais warps in. It is designated as: “Zeta 3”

Zeta 3: “Thank god! Command, are you there)” *Sounds very nervous and scaried.*

Command: “Zeta 3, what are you doing here? You should search the GTC Cutter!”

Zeta 3: “Hell, I know but…”

Command: “But what pilot?”

Zeta 3: “We found the GTC Cutter. It was destroyed! My team is dead… -

The Shivans killed everyone! I retreated but they are behind me!”


Again Shivan fighters are warping in.

Command: “Zeta 3, warp to the GTD *name*. Alpha, destroy those wings and get the hell out of there!”

After finishing that order, you warp out.

Debrief:
Well done pilots. The Shivans should noticed that they can’t play with us. But we have sadly news: The GTC Cutter and the whole Zeta wing accept Zeta 3 has been destroyed. The Shivans will pay for that. But you did a great job by destroing those ships. But you won’t have time to sleep. You’ll have to report to the Mission briefing in two hours.
 
This time maybe sometime more involving the Vasudans.

The war is being quiet for a while, so Alpha is assigned to the newly-arriving supply fleet (freighters, transporters etc.) to defend it on the route from node to node. I am thinking here a six Argo-likes and four triton-likes with cargo (supplies,ammo etc). So, Alpha start in front of the node, bitching about the boredom and how the Vasudans are so mean and they should burn in the depths of hell, then, two cruisers come in (one from each side of the node, left and right), and between through the center, after few seconds, rest of the convoy, followed by another cruiser. The flight goes on for a while (it should be boring, like minute of silent flight). Suddenly, one of the tritons hail the rest of the convoy "Halt, there's something wrong with the cargo". His cargo should be "Ammo/Ammunition/Missiles".
NOTE: two tritons with ammo should go in the REAR of the convoy, argos middle, supplies front

Triton: "We can't get access to the cargo's computer"
Cruiser1: "Beta 3, scan it"
Beta 3 goes in, starts scanning and after 2 seconds:
Triton: "What the..."
Cargo goes boom, Beta 3 caught in the blast, Triton should vanish, two argos go to the afterlife. One Triton(ammo one of course) goes very damaged, the other two relatively fine.

Cruiser3 (following one): "I have a bad feeling about this..."

Then, from the node goes all warpey, and Vasudan heavy corvette/frigate maybe? emerges cutting the Cruiser3 in a half(ouch, geomod dreams...), well basicly killing it with one shot. Then all the convoy guys start bitching about "Help us help us!" "We are defenseless". The corvette starts closing in (cruiser should be like 1k behind the convoy. The other two cruisers start to turn around, but are surprised by two bomber wings (two vessels each), which nuke them to death and run. Everyone should now be like "WTF R WE GONNA DO?!!?!". They can't jump due to jumpdrives not being charged yet.

The heavy damaged triton can't speed up enough to be with all the ships, and stays behind. Then they decide to bail, three escape pods facing the convoy and docking with the argos/going to the node.

Corvette is close enough to fire, it leaves the bailed triton (possibly to scavenge it later). Then Beta 1 goes "Alfa 1, shoot the cargo! Quickly or we'll lose the last chance!", player gets a directive "Destroy the lost cargo", it should be like one shot with missile, timing is very important. At the same moment, vasudan fighters should come in, weapons blazing. Alpha 4 "We'll cover you lead!". Player should now shoot the cargo. Cargo should blow up very shiny, taking corvette down. Then only like two-three waves of fighters and one-two of bombers and mission succesful.

Now the fun stuff: if the player suceeds to destroy corvette at that moment (thus saving big part of the convoy,) he should get a medal in the debriefing ("Beta 1 for his quick thinking, and Alpha 1 for his fast reaction get Medals of Whatever"). And if he fails to do it in time (corvette is too far from the cargo for it to destroy her) command sends in another cruiser or a bomber wing to take down the scumbag. But the time between failing and coming of the bombers should be enough for the corvette to destroy at least ONE of our ships. I think that's the whole mission.
 
Its a prologue I like to see, your first assignment is to an old orion destroyer GTD Wolfenstein thats serf as a training vessel for fleet officers, pilots, technicians etc. To finish their education.

Same for the the escorts the GTCv Frankenstein, GTC Rammstein,
GTA BoomCat.

First mission; Battle Group Frauenhauser

The small fleet its making its way to a remote system with alot of asteroid belts,
you fly as a escort, learn some basic commands, shot at some GTDR Amazons designation "shoot me if you can !!!"
You hear the chatter between the fleet vessels what happend after capella,

Second mission; WARGAMES CODE NAME Thors Hammer

Advanced training, The entire palette, full Range simulation !!
And again blah, blah !!!

Third mission; Ragnarök

The best part, The last exercises and because of the tight schedule you are under the "Redbull Effect" to stay awake.
All fighter wings are involved in it, your part is to be an reinforcement wing hiding in an asteroid belt.
"And so it begins" the exercise, but because of a screw up by a technician trainee you are a sitting duck.
Seeing the great spectacle alpha one get worked up. hmm
Then it happend , the GTF Gungnir jumped in front of the jump point criticly demaged and before it jumped out of the system the message that it sent over the comlink "We are all Doomed!!!" ( The GTF Gungnir was under SOC Command and like it always is, this guys are so secretly secret, that they never know what are they doing=/
A totally disarray in the GTVA fleet, no one knew WTF happend and before someone knew what to do, a Sathanas and its fleet jumped in and a battle in GALACTIC SCALE started in Front of Alpha one (well in his point of view it was, he was is still delirious, GTVA gave a good fight) getting frustrated he began with frantic movement to strangulate his flight sitck.
And all was HC ever retrieved was a com message from alpha one that he screamed over and over again ( that was the last thing that his comrades heard)

Two missions about Vasudan trap ("Our shields can't repel firepower of that magnitude!"). I came out with a mission sparkling with action from the beggining to the very end.

You are assigned to the Lambda Taskforce. Briefing should go by the way of " We are now transiting through the node. Front units are already in-place. You launch before we reach the end of the corridor. I know, that we don't expect trouble, it's just I'm better safe than sorry. Report to your leaders."
Lambda Taskforce consists of 1 carrier, 1 light corvette and 3 cruisers. The formation is: Corvette, Cruiser, two cruisers, carrier.
Player clicks "Commit" (note: only heavy assault should be available).
Alpha and Beta start in such a formation that no "DIVE DIVE DIVE!" is necessary (both sides of the node. Would be nice to have white light first, which fades to show us the system (you get my drift i hope).

Beta 3: What the...? "Starpride" we have casualties, I repeat, we have casualties!
Starpride(as they enter the system): Report!
Beta 2: Whole taskforce wiped out! No hostiles though...

Two Vasudan cruisers warp in guns blazing at the weaker flank of the carrier

Starpride: We need cover! Launching Gamma and Delta!

Gamma interceptor wing and Delta bomber wing launch after a few seconds. Cruisers pound on the carrier, next cruiser (heavier) comes in at the other flank and starts pounding too. Before Alpha or Beta have time to react, fighters come in.
Alpha 3: "Gamma, we'll get rid of these bastards, cover Delta"
Gamma 1: "Roger, good luck boys!"

Delta starts coordinated attack, one bomber attacks one light cruiser, one bomber attacks other light cruiser, and two remaining nuke the heavier.
Delta 1: Starpride, what's your status? Bandits eliminated.
Starpride: We are fine, though not for long! We have destroyer-size incoming!
Alpha 2: Oh snap, you're have to be kidding me.

Vasudan destroyer (one of the weakest) comes in, fighters warp in. Delta lands on the Starpride, and Theta bomber wing launches to replace them.

Theta 2: We don't expect trouble pilots... yeah sure.
Theta 4: I don't find bombing some Vasudan rogues a problem, Tee-two
Theta 1: Cut the chatter and bomb the son of a...
In this moment beam should pierce right through him

Theta 3: Oh my God! They killed flight leader!
Theta 2: You bastards! I'm gonna kill you all!

Theta wing goes bombs blazing and nukes destroyer. Get him a guardian 30%, when he reaches that, he should pull out, taking the fighter cover with him.

Beta 2: Starpride, shall we pursue? We can't just let them go away with that!
Starpride: Negative, Beta 2. Not now at least, we'll make some repairs and get these buggers.
NO DEBRIEFING
Now next missions is scramble no briefing cause no intel is present.

Starpride enters the system only to see Vasudan destroyer being repaired by a couple of repair teams.

Starpride (as players enters): GO! GO! GO!

Alpha and Beta start simultaneously and immediately meet fighter resistance. 6 wings versus 2 wings isn't fair right? So Gamma starts in their shiny interceptors.
Beta 1: "Get'em, boys!"
Gamma 3: "Take that! And that! And that's for Jimmy!"
Alpha 4: Who's Jimmy?
Gamma 3: "I bet they killed ton of poor Jimmies!"
Vasudan Destroyer: "Al-fombra I need assistance"
Heavy corvette/frigate "Al-Fombra" comes in. shooting at poor fighters and pounding Starpride.

Starpride: "Delta, Theta, go!"

Delta and Theta start. They should dodge the corvette and head straight for the destroyer.

Delta 3: "Dammit, Starpride we've got fighters here!" Indeed, two wings of fighters should warp in
Beta 1: "Alpha wing, I think it's your turn to save the day"
Alpha 2: "As always"

Alpha gets a directive to protect the bombers. Bombers start nuking the destroyer, and Alpha fighting with the cover

Gamma 3: "Starpride! We've got him! Beam through his weapon subsystem!"
Starpride charges a beam and shoots through, corvette booms shiny. Of course the fighters should run from the vessel as soon as the message is sent

Beta 4: YEAH! Cool guys 1, Suckers 0!

After that message, the transporters with repair crews should start docking off and jumping.

Delta 1: Crap! Theta wing, Disable them!
Theta 2: No worries dee-one, Theta goes in to save the day.

Theta disables the Vasudan destroyer which should be very damaged by now.

Vasudan destroyer: "Cease fire! We want to..."
Theta 3: I don't take orders from traitors *click* oopsie! I think I launched my volley of anti-caps!

Vasudan destroyer booms, bombers land on the Starpride, fighters clear out the remaining resistance, and land on the Starpride too.

Debrief:
Due to heroic actions on the battlefield of Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Theta wings, we are pleased to hereby grant them Medals of Valor. They didn't falter in the face of overwhelming force, better yet, they faced it and defeated, granting themselves, their squadron and whole GTVA great honor.

Inspite of tactical knowledge, courage and quick actions, we are happy to grant Commodore Valetis the rank of Rear Admiral. Congratulations, Admiral.

The valediction of Theta flight leader and the crews of ambushed ships will be held at 1600 hours.

Dismissed.
 
Well, it's difficult for you to write whole scripts that will work, just because we already have a general plot arc and there's no way you could be expected to know it.

However, feel free to generate mission concepts: 'defend a network of sentry guns' or 'escort a repair ship in a large battle', or something similar.

Thanks for lots of your input so far. We still are expecting to get more from you! :)

If your missions doesn't make it to the main campaign, we'll try to release an expansion pack with those missions included as a single missions!
