lol.....funny you should ask that......overview of the story.....
i'm keeping the story close to my chest right now...but.....it is set in the MT universe, and we find out in this campaign
1. why the Shivans attacked
2. why Bosch turned his back on the GTVA and formed the NTF
3. what happened to Bosch
4.  and oh yeah...you discover the origin of Mankind.

length....slated at 102 missions.  currently working the mission doc.  that may drop as low as 90.  we are looking at a trilogy to tell the whole story.

Wow, I am glad there is finally going to be another monster campaign besides Derelict and  Homesick. If its FREDDED well it could easily be one of the top 3 campaigns. I am really trying to stay away from looking at the internal BTW so it doesnt give anything away.

Right now we can't take on anymore fredders.  At least not until MT is released.  Hell i can't even show the entire storyline until after that.  So in the meantime, much as i hate to say it, i am having to keep alot of things secret even from the staff of Origins.  Sucks, but we have to keep the secrecy of MT intact as well.  Anyway....once MT is released i will look at things and I see where we are mission wise that may change.  On the other hand, i can fred rather quickly, especially when i know what i want.  I worked on missions for 2 days, 4 missions are done.  Well Mission 4 just got sent out for testing.  Before i go any further I am wanting to get MT a bit closer than it is now.  which i am spending the weekend doing.

How long does it typically take you to FRED one mission?

It takes me a while but I am new to FREDDING and thats probably normal.

Depends on who you are and how complex you make your missions. I used to be able to FRED a mission in two days at one point but now it takes me longer. Partly cause I rarely get fully into the FRED groove anymore and partly cause I make much more complicated missions than I used to.

generally when i fred i have 3 copies open and i fred 3 at a time...works well for testing, i only have to open fs2 1 time to test all three missions.  Generally i make a mission in a day.  I think that the most crucial part of fredding isn't knowing a bunch of tricks...but coming up with new ways to use the tricks that you do know.....ya know what i mean?

All this talk about FREDding is making me feel like I should go FRED... :nervous:

But play balancing is so boring. Playing the same mission over and over, then seeing what happens if they don't get Harpoons. Then playing it again. Plus there's this annoying bug in FRED I really should go report...

LOL Axem, yes you should go FRED.  There are far too few of us in the world.  Imagine how much better the world would be if good fredders planned the days?
