From what I can tell, SOL is making a Multi Player for the game (: yes correct?

well in the Lylat System, theres a bunch of different anthromorphic animals that inhabit certain planets. Corneria for sample had perhaps the most different species from dogs, cats,birds,frogs, (and if you read the 90's Nintendo Power non-canon comic; Lions, Cheetas, Bears, Badgers), Whereas planets that pretty much were run by Andross before (he was killed) had species between Monkeys/Apes and Lizards/Reptiles

Okay this is just a idea I had and I'm not sure if it's going to make a difference since SOL seems to mostly care about the spacecrafts, not the interior/characters (atm), but how about in Multi-Player, we are given the choice to pick a certain species for our character?

More Options = wide range of customization = own's

Yes yes? What joo think?

I think it would be cool, but i also think that coding it in would just delay the release even MORE.

At the moment, we plan to let players embody characters from the Starfox universe (Fox, Falco, Peppy, Slippy...). Maybe secondary (SOL original characters, such as Elna) characters might be playable as well but that's not settled yet.

3232> That's not much coding actually. It's rather creating the character (Concept Art) then modeling/texturing/animating them (Character Artworking), dubbing them (Voice-Acting) and if needed doing that all over again for their dedicated ship. THAT can be long.

Copy/Modify/Pasting game tables to implement the ship in the game isn't! ;)

That's really incorrect actually. There has been cockpit done and now high-poly cockpit work is being done. Along with the fact that the cut-scene workgroup has been hard at work creating interiors and characters since mid December 2009. Character concepts have been worked on long before the workgroup was formed. Psygonis and Myself have had the privilege on working in the cut-scene workgroup.

Personally I am a big fan of F-Zero GX so customization like in that game I would love to see in most games. Though I know that extent of customization won't happen in games that are multiplayer over the net. At least for some time, even Fable II didn't do it.

Point being I am all in favor of having the most customization that you can (in a practical not too overly complex way).

Customization... Way to see an army of Foxes with shades and muscles, accompanied by sexy furies...
Just stick with main and secondary characters atm. Buy the Sims for character personalization.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Ohh no I didn't mean anything like  Boob Size options or anything that silly xD

but yes, F-Zero is a good sample of what I'm talking about ;3 ( I've only played f-zero 64 though) - which you pick a character/species/class, which have their own ship/stats.

Nah I aint talking about Secondlife/IMVU type of character editing, maybe to the extent of Skin/Clothing/(Ship) color ; like in SSB series. (or 'presets')

Different colors would be cool, like the ssbb costume changer.
Well you could go crazy and end up like me. (no I didn't make 'em)
I think it would also be cool to pick if you want the Assault Fox costume or the Classic Jacket but not change physical appearance. What is Sol using for Fox's appearance? Based on the trailers and cut scenes it looks like Assault Fox.

What? Where did you get boob sizes from? I might be a dude but I wasn't referring to customizing boob sizes. I was merely referring to the fact that not only could you pick character class and then optimize your engine but to the fact that you could buy parts put them together to build your own ship and then even design the emblems on there. And that's the part that never makes it to multiplayer is the customizing design of your own character/ship.

Re: customizing your own pilot.

In Freespace 2, you can choose the portrait for your pilot from the options screen. It's just a little picture, so it probably wouldn't be hard at all to substitute Lylatians for Humans and Vasudans. I believe that the portrait you select also affects your portrait when you send transmissions in the game.
If you want your character to show up as a different model in the cockpit or to affect the way your ship flys, I think that would probably be too much work, at least at first.
