Just to flare up some activity in here...
« on: May 03, 2005, 06:17:33 PM »
I don't know how many of you, if any of you, listen to NPR.

But if any of you do and have listened to "Performance Today," you may have heard the Piano Puzzler. The Piano Puzzler is composed by Bruce Adolphe every week and what they do is have Bruce arrange a well-known piece of music in the style of a classical composer. They then have caller (It's a call-in feature) try to guess both the song and the composer.

To hear Bruce's Puzzlers, go here: http://www.npr.org/programs/pt/puzzler/

This is the same thing, except all of the songs will be from the Star Fox series (Star Fox 2 included).

Since I don't think we could convince Bruce Adolphe to compose special ones for us, I've decided to do it myself. ;)

The rules will be simpler (and the music shorter) than NPR's:

You just have to name the tune. (I am not picking a specific composer anyway).

I'll start with an easy one. ;)

Hehe, nice. I almost didn't get it until I heard the last few seconds of it. Which reminds me, I should go grab some SPC soundtracks, those are always fun to listen too.

Oh and the tune is...
Course Clear!
(Right? :nervous: )

I guess I could count that as right, though the actual inspiration for it was a different BGM, it is the same melody.

Okay, now for a harder one. Now, I'll be the first to admit that the arrangement on this one is a bit weak, but meh. This server it's purpose.

Remember, the entire series is fair-game for these. I'll probabaly only do one once a week. This was an exception because the first one was a warmup. ;)

Don't worry, I won't be evil and do something from Shadows.

No Idea... The first seconds sound familiar...

I'm pretty sure DZ ment to post this link:

Hmm but what might that be. I think I know the last part...  I know it for sure. But I can figure it out right now.

Whoops...

Be warned, it does deviate from the BGM. ;)

Listening to game BGMs is not against the rules, you know. ;)

I know the last part of the third track for sure, but I can't figure it out.
Could you give me a hint? Just a small one. ^^

Axem rendered something from one of the levels the BGM is featured on. ;)

It's only a vague guess, but is it the first boss track?

Axem posted a render of the Attack Carrier and there is one passage thats sounds a bit like this track. :)

Axem got it. It's Fortuna/Sector Z in SF64 and Fichina is Assault!

Here's the next one!
