Caps might be a problem in deciphering this...

But, as far as we as a fanbase know, no. Only DaBrain and the actual team could tell you for certain.

If it was assault only...then no. SoL is set in between 64 and adventures.

Fortuna was covered in snow too. At least in the SNES version, if I recall that correctly.

Honestly, Fortuna was snowy in the 64 version as well. I think it was called Fichina in the SNES version. I'd have to play again.

Regardless, as far as I'm concerned, the snowy one IS Fortuna simply because that is the name for it in 64. I've played the 64 version not even an hour ago, so I know that for a fact. Assault was an accident as far as I'm concerned.

Titania was the snow covered world in the SNES version of Starfox (until you came in contact with a weather control device). Fortuna was a green world with massive flowers, bees, dragonflies and a large two headed dragon like creature.

So there were quite a few changes from SNES to 64, then. Interesting to know, thank you.

Fortuna in SF64 was a translation error. It was supposed to be Fichina, but they confused its name with the SF SNES planet full of dinosaurs, Fortuna:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-8Dj0KerQg

So SF64 screwed that up. Fichina was supposed to be a new planet stuck in the ice age. It's fichina in the Japanese game, but a translator thought it needed to be translated.

Then Rare came in and made SFAd, which takes place on Dinosaur Planet, also known as the Dinosaur Planet, also known as Fortuna.

Then SFAs screwed that up, and renamed DP as Sauria, and made Fortuna a separate planet.

So 64 Fortuna was supposed to be Fichina and Sauria was supposed to be Fortuna, but instead, Fichina got named Fortuna in 64 and Fortuna then became its own planet in SFAs. So what's really canon?

Fichina is the ice planet, period, it's just wrong in 64. Fortuna is the dinosaur planet, only, it's not Dinosaur Planet anymore, it's just Fortuna, and Dinosaur Planet is now Sauria. That's the canon.

Don't ever bring up "Is Solar a planet?" if you value your sanity.

All answers to the question are wrong.

"Dinosaur Planet" was never Fortuna. That sentence in the SNES manual was the only thing that could be considered evidence, but it was just coincidence. The planet was called Dinosaur Planet before SFAd became a Star Fox game. I honestly do not think Rare even read that manual.

Luckilly, they did the right thing a retconned the planet's name to Sauria. Note that that is like the only retcon I agree with at this point.

Okay, at least that cleared up a lot then. Fichina is Ice and Fortuna is Jungle as Feather summed up, but apparently Dinosaur Planet still remains a weird muck-up or something. I can see the developers freakin' out over that. ("Okay, what were these planets supposed to be again?" "Dunno." "So someone screwed up and we have to fix it." "Yup." "I hate people.")
