Make one red and one blue, both animated, and we can have Tron vs Shark dogfights.

1) what do you mean animated and how
2) coop tried the blue eyes thing but to small to see
3) here you go red vs blue

You better put Sarge on the red one and Church on the Blue one.

And lopez can be a raider with no wings ^_^
Or something.

Animated: you can have a series of textures, and a descriptions file "explaining" the cycles. FS2 will change the textures accordingly, and your widening eyes see motion on the monitor. Example: the Eye of the Raider.

Just make a text file, the instuctions on what should go into it are in the link (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/EFF#ANI) karajorma posted.

Simply put you make all the images with yourname_0000....9999.dds; and you make a textfile that described how to render the sequence.

ok heres what i did
1)as to meleardils request im trying animate my glow lines
on my tron ships

2)so i broke down my lines into there individual colors and
made those into dds files to give a pulse effect i layered the
different colored lines on the original mk7 glow file

3)to get around making a eff file i took one from the root
directory and change its name and info

4)heres what i named them
viperseven-glow1.eff
viperseven-glow1_000.dds
to
viperseven-glow1_0005.dds
and put it all in my maps folder
thats pretty much every thing i
did as far as i can remember.

I'm assuming that it didn't work. :)

Why did you add the 1 to the name? The name should be the same as the static glow file.

Basically the game loads the texture map x.dds and then looks for a glow. If it finds x_glow.eff it will use that, if not it will use x_glow.dds

By any chance could you texture a steampunk Viper?  Maybe made out of wooden slats and tarnished copper bands.  That would be pwn on so many levels.
