Awesome pics Omni! Man, the hits just keep comin' ...
I could do 10 years of this easily. I think this is some of the finest usages of television I\'ve ever been a part of in my life bar none. I\'ve been doing this for 42 years. I\'ve done some really good work on television and in motion pictures, but there\'s nothing like this show. I can honestly tell you that. By far, one of the finest dramatic pieces of work on humanity I\'ve ever seen in my life."

I think {BSG is} so passionate, textured, complex, subversive and challenging that it dwarfs everything on TV.

That's by pdf from years ago.  That should be called version one.  It is 4 times more detailed now.

Great model! Well , from a X3 perspective 70k would be pretty normal , but for freespace I don't really know...

Anyway , Galactica looks just great... can't wait to see her textured!

Good job Omni!

Some final detailling for LOD-0 (highest level of detail), then begin the progressive polygon reduction for LOD-1 thru LOD-5.

My ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 almost had a heart attack when it rendered this page. It's dreading the release of this thing.

By the time Omni's got it done, I should have a new laptop with:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz
2GB RAM
Nvidia Quarto NVS 140

Which had better be able to handle this.

Depends of a definition of "big". Most likely yes, if you keep the AA at none and perhaps lower the image filtering quality settings on the driver control panel. 6600GT is a good card AFAIK...

There could be some problems having the Galactica, Pegasus and all of the ragtag fleet in view at the same time along with four Base ships and the Res Ship, though. And a few Raiders and Viper swarms/squadrons...

but those problems would be same for everyone, most likely.:nervous:
