New Version Released!
Battleships Forever v0.71 and ShipMaker v2.0
Get it here: http://www.wyrdysm.com/games.php

Its finally here. You now have access to all the weapons in the ship maker. There's also two new ships and the ship selection system has been improved greatly. You can also self destruct ships by pressing ctrl-d now.

The shipmaker is a lot more user friendly now. Instead of having to hunt for hot keys in order to do anything now you simply right click on the object and it brings up a list of possible actions. The downside is that you can't load old blueprint (.sbl) files anymore (though you can still load old ships into the game itself) but the added user friendliness, and access to the full range of turrets is definitely worth it!

Try re=installing it. It's happened a to a few people, but it left after redoing it.

I've got the same problem as well, but it doesn't seem to affect the game at all, not superficially anyway. If you're refering to the ship-maker then it's J and L to rotate.

I think th15 on the game forums said he'd post a bug fix for the game as well as the ship maker later tonight which I don't know when exactly that was posted especially considering I think he's in Singapore and I'm too lazy to run the time conversions right now :P

Last version for a bit buggy, but here's the new one!

Fixed the nudging bug, yea that was pretty annoying. This version would have been released sooner, but I decided to add some things to it, I don't think you'll be disappointed :)

New Version Release
Get it here: http://www.wyrdysm.com/games.php

I have two words to say about this release: Custom Weapons. I have let loose the weapons of Mass Destruction. The Shipmaker will now allow you to enter some custom values for weapons, allowing you to augment their firing rate, clip size, reload time, range, turnspeed and accuracy! I don't need to say any more do I?

Here's a picture of a ship firing Gatling Weasels:

You can also assign specific HP values to sections now to give you more control of what kind of ship you want to create! On top of that, you can now assign the depth values of sections, this means that you can control which section appears on top!

For the game itself, I've fixed a bunch of bugs. The biggest change you'll notice in this version is the addition of some portraits for the messaging in the career. This really brings home the scanline style of the game.

Enjoy making out all the wanked out ships you ever dreamed about :)

New Version Released!
Download at: http://www.wyrdysm.com/games.php

This version includes Battleships Forever v0.73 and Shipmaker 2.2. It is a far more stable release than the previous ones (it's taken this long to get out because I've been testing it alone). The custom statistics features in the Shipmaker are now working well. You also have the ability to import ships as allied ships in the Sandbox now (alt-ins to do this). I also modified the Enyo so that its more of a Pulse Gunboat than a Railgun sniper. The message portraits also were improved.

But the most important part of this release is all the bugfixes for the Shipmaker, I think you'll find that it's far more intuitive now that the bugs have been ironed out. I've included a bunch of ships in the custom ships folder to demonstrate the new features in the shipmaker.

th15 I love Battleships Forever, but in the next (or upcoming) release, I'd love it if you could do something about making old user created ships compatible with the newer versions.

By that I mean some people that uploaded to http://www.wyrdysm.com/battleshipsforever/shipdatabase/uploads/ only posted the .sbl file, which means you can't play with those ships in sandbox mode. That was no problem before, just pop it into the shipmaker, hit save, and it created the proper file. But now I can't load those old .sbl files into shipmaker, either to save them or modify them. I tried changing the file extensions to .sb2, but got error messages every time I tried to load these ships into the shipmaker.

For example, in the ship database there's a file called "borgcube.sbl". This file will not load into shipmaker, and since there is no .shp file, then I'm screwed. I changed the file extension to .sb2, but got the following error message:
"ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object obj_weapbutton:
Trying to draw non-existing sprite."
Hitting ignore only produced this:
"ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object obj_modbutton:
Trying to draw non-existing sprite."

HELP! Playing in the sandbox makes Battleships forever replayable until new SP Missions come out. Is there anything you can do?

Thank you so very much in advance.
