It wasn't my intention to get into arguments. I'll repeat it again, I'm just stating a fact. Against facts, there are no arguments. Get it ?

Numba 10 yeah. I think that's the only reason this thread should have a purpose. Oh ! Forget it, I'm probably one among few thinking this forum should be more mod oriented ... but anyway, that's just me.

You probably are. Speaking as a mod I like having somewhere I can come and chat about Galactica with people I know.

The focus of the forums are likely to change very quickly after BtRL releases but till then I have no problem with this mostly being a BSG forum with lots of BtRL stuff in it (and lots of people) than a purely BtRL forum with no real discussion going on most of the time.

I like seeing the forum busy cause it means if I do want to ask the fans something I know they'll be lots of people around.

Once the demo is out we'll probably need BSG discussion and BtRL Tech Support forums very quickly anyway but lets wait until we need them to be sure. :)

Cally is not hot

Whilst I believe that fundamentally everyone is entitled to their opinions, I also believe that there is a universal, unmovable, inarguable definition of 'Wrongness'. And the above statement falls into this category ( ;) ).

Other things we have learned from BSG:

1) Supernova explosions actually travel very slowly. From the time you first see the explosion to it actually engulfing and killing you can be up to an hour rather than, as science currently postulates, about a microsecond.

2) That Raptors can perform atmospheric jumps quite easily except for when they're about to be hit by a tardy supernova explosion (see above), which is when they decide it'll be better to fly up to their mothership which will take much longer and increase their chances of flaming death.

3) Continuity is optional.

4) The less screen-time a character has, the more inversely popular their character becomes. If Racetrack was in the main titles and had a storyline every episode, people wouldn't care about her at all. Because she gets about 3 lines every fourth episode, however, people think she is great. See also: Hotdog, Doc Cottle, Kat, Hoshi etc.

5) Every time a notable, veteran actor from a previously well-established SF series turns up, they will invariably be a Cylon agent. I therefore predict that the Final Five will be played by Jonathan Frakes, Kevin Sorbo, David Duchovney, Bruce Boxleitner and Summer Glau.

You can talk about whatever you want. I'm just stating the fact this forum has mostly non game related threads on the first pages, that's all.

Probably developers should post more often about the game development so things get talked about. I mean, a small video or a couple of screenshots per week will suffice. Interest seems high among fans, I just hope it doesn't loose some momentum due to lack of updates.

To be honest we really don't have time. We're working so hard on getting the demo out and balancing our real lives that we don't have time to sit down and make something that's not really integral to the demo process.
If you want your bugs fixed and features added, you gotta get us coders! See the help wanted thread if you want to help out!

The Galactica can jump a minimum of 200 light years.  The estimated minimum distance the earth can be from a supernova and still support life.

hmmm

paper with no corners beats regular paper hands down

Colonial flashlights have excellent reliability, functioning even after being used to crack open Leoben's noggin

Glasses are just as effective at hiding ones identity in Colonial society(or at least cloud nine) as it is in Metropolis

Cylons were cooler when they had a plan... and we thought their baseships were full of naked Eights

Baltar was wanking off for nearly all of season one

Bullets and booze never run dry

Adama hates... babies

you can slit your wrists with a shell casing

With the exception of Gunnery Sgt.  Mathias Colonial Marines aren't very good at their jobs.  they let to peg skippers get plugged, barely stopped a handful of Toasters from seizing the Galactica and need to drag Starbuck around for anything serious.

Noodles breakfast of champions

Hera blood cures cancer

Planets in BSG have weird lighting

Kinetic Weapons in space battles make lasers look lame

It doesn't condone rape, it just condones those who condone rape (Cain)!:biggrin1:
