okay, I added his samples in. He sent them in two separate PM's. >_<

gotta be honest, I don't like them. Alex Murdock's samples aren't too great imo. There's a lack of giving a damn. hehe. lots of errors, poor use of emotion and lack of charisma. Next. People who we don't like, I'm going to put a rejected text in their application data.

hahahahaha

when he does the evil lines, he sounds like a sith lord
his accent does get in the way of some of it, but i think if he speaks clearly enough, the accent would contribute to the wide range of style for this. i especially like his "husky unit, cover the base." a lot of the various lines sound very different, which is great!

and one BIG plus for this guy: insane amount of experience. his samples are top quality, which is great. plus, he's an older guy.

 from me

I like his voice, but I fear that his use might be limited. . . .

I also though that his "husky unit" line stood out, as well as his more villainous side that he showed. And his quality is great! I think he'd make a perfect tough guy type of enemy....

Well, even if his use IS limited, it's better than using someone who is less suited for the limited job, right? We could probably use his expertise somewhere

I think he has the perfect voice for a villain, plus he seems dedicated.

Just a note that I think D-Mac would be a very valuable part of the project, at least from what it seems in his sig link. It looks like he knows a lot about what he's doing and could possibly do a good number of characters.

BTW, we're not instantly giving access to people we give the go for, right? Is it good to wait until we can close the doors and then pick out the best ones from the group? I think it's a better idea. Plus, we don't have to kick out people that we don't like later.

Yeah, we're waiting and just talking about them at this point.

Yeah, some people over at a voice acting board that I posted an 'audition info thread' to giving me hell about not having actual characters to try out for, but the reality is, without a real script that's the way it has to be.... if we want voice actors at this point in time, (and ones that will stick with us through the rest of the project) we have to use this protocol since we don't have a script or any real list of main characters other than the Starfox team..... PLUS I don't want to tell them we don't have a script written because it'll look real bad... I'm trying to deal with what I can.

What's the plan from here? I'd be happy to revise the protocol, but again, without a script the protocol for getting voice actors is severely limited.

When I'm up to it, I'll finalize the whole training mission and get you a script for that.

But if you want, I can make a totally pointless "audition" mission that doesn't fit into the story at all.

What about the generic audio the game engine is going to require? (oops, traitor, incoming, ext…)

Well, there's those things too.

But why should we be afraid that we dont have a script ready? As far as FS campaigns go, you just can't have a script until the missions are finalized. Come on, even the fans over at BSG know that.
