Things to Consider (Food for thought) RESOURCE!

When creating a new mod there are many things to consider, especially when creating a massive TOTAL CONVERSION.

Be as it may, these things, although basic, are something we must clarify that way there will be no confusion as to who or what is going on, and whos roles are what and so forth. Also these are things I think we need to look at if were going to make this work, and dedicate ourselves to something this consuming. I wouldnt be here myself if I were not willing to do the same ^__^!

Now here is Freelancers Anoying college learned rules lol. (Feel free to add to these because this will help keep us focus on the task ahead)

1. Pre-Production:

-General Design:
a. Ships (what ships will be in the game? how big will they be? how detailed?)
b. Special Effects, ANI's & Weapons efx (how special? How cool looking? etc.)
c. Textures (Diff textures for diff environmental changes such as weapons damage, weathering, dents etc.)
d. Backgrounds (Amass alot of collective space photography or renders or custom made)
e. Sounds (straight from the series, ingame from other games, elsewhere)
f. Music (I am in the process of finding a OST of the Reimaged Series)
g. WEB PRESENCE - straight forward, website.
h. Target - System requirement target & Limits on engine etc.
i. Custom Interface - custom loadins etc.

-Organization
a. Who is doing what? Asign jobs to the right person for the job!
b. Communications - Everyone got everyones IM/EMAIL/ETC.
c. Prepping the FS2-SCP Engine for Conversion (this is something that will end up being an entire thread solo, because if this is a true total conversion, i would assume it will be stand alone like The Babylon Project or Inferno)
d. Organizing story elements, scripts (if any), plot points, mission stuff, time lines, event management etc.
e. Whoever is FREDding, will catagorize everything similair to that of the current system involving Terran Vasudan and Shivan. IE. Colonial: Green, Cylon: RED, Civilian: Brown (whatever)
f. same applies to weapons, stars, sounds, music, and so forth in the TBL's...

2. Production (Demo for now, will apply and more to the full versions)

-THE DEMO (should be make a stand alone now or just a mod for the current game?)
a. Story
b. Outline Mission Order/ mission timeline/ mission events/ PRE-FREDDING
b2. Custom screens and menus, ANI's etc.
c. Amount of ships we want to release for this mod
d. Mission Design
e. voice? music?

-Beta Testing
a. the team
b. HLP TEAM
c. others? signups etc.?

3. Release of the Demo

-RELEASE THE BASTARD! ^__^!

Now this is kinda simple and not detailed, but its something to consider and is food for thought. I feel this will help guide us through the time ahead to really get things moving, things to remember to check on and things to look out for.
