Custom Squadron Decals?

Are these possible? I have created a 128x128 PCX file, and dropped it into the players\images folder of both FS2 and the Media VPs folder, in the assumption that it'd be selectable for my Multiplayer pilot.

But nothing shows up in the game, am I doing something wrong, or is this not possible?

Is it a 24bit PCX rather than the 8-bit one it should be?

That sorted it, thanks. Just another quick question, does it have to replace an existing decal, as that's the only way it seems to show up.

Ok, I'll do some more digging. So far the only way I can get a custom decal to display is by using the same filename as an existing decal, but that just doesn't feel right *shrugs*

your pilot image has to be 256 color, 160 x 120 and and squad image has to be 128 x 128 and 256 color. if its 24bit it will not show up for other players. IT MUST follow thse dementions and color requirements other wise people wont see it, only you will ;)

Ok, well the 'problem' is, that it is 128x128*256 colour, (when it wasn't, it didn't even show up for me *sniffle*), however the only way I can see the file in game, is to have it replace one of the existing decals. Eg, put the file in 'players/images' and save it as 'ravens.pcx', it then replaces the Raven decal in the selector, now it could be that's how you do it, but it doesn't feel right.

You shouldn't have to replace existing images, since none of them are hardcoded.  It just looks in data/players/images/ for all available pilot pics and data/players/squads/ for all squadron pics.

ahhhhh... I'll try dropping the file in /squads and see what happens. I find it interesting that dropping 'ravens.pcx' in "/images" replaces, but that's probably jusr defualt behaviour looking for replacement files, when I want it to look for additional files. Eg "look in these these folders in this order, if replacement found..." and as the squadron decal is in the wrong folder, it's not in the right format to be a pilot decal, so FS2 is ignoring it.

128x128 image doesnt go in pilot images to begin with, thats a squad image size.
