When is the release?  'When it's Done!'  But not in a Duke Nukem Forever way...will that game EVER see the light of retail day?!

"Allways bet on Duke", it will come someday, 3DRealms has invested too much in it to scrap it. :pimp:

WID is actually good line for release policy 'cos that way you can do your best instead of pushing half baked cake out of the owen when the date says to do so.

Those videos are beautiful. What made me the happiest was seeing how the Raider moved. That looks really cool and much truer to the show than I thought Freespace could manage to be.

I assume that in the final version, capital ships will explode using slower explosion animations?

Also, Galactica's flak cannons don't seem to be behaving like flak cannons. That is, they always aim to hit missiles directly rather than boxing them and relying on covering a large area to destroy them. Is this being worked on?

How easy is the warp-in effect to replace? Will it be super-fast in the release?

Man, I don't know why I even mentioned that stuff. I'm sorry. You guys are obviously on the ball. Keep rocking it right.

Do you accept 'donations'? If so, how?

I sent $50 to MatthewPapa to help cover the costs of this forum (about $200 per annum).  It facilitates the mod work, but is in no way a payment and no-one gains profit, so no legal problems can arise from such donations.  Send him a PM to get his PayPal details.

Finally managed to watch the videos (other computer won't didplay them).  Absolutely incredible!  I think the speed over the asteroid is right (I read a comment somewhere else suggesting it was too slow, but I like it as it is).  The only (guarded) observations I'd make are that the "jump-in" effect of the Basestars in the first vid needs speeding up about 50-100 times, and that at one point a Basestar merged with the station.  The Galactica's large dorsal guns moved a bit to quickly when retargeting in the flack test vid too.  Otherwise, I could see no flaws at all.

yeah, that is a stock 'warp-in' effect from FS2...we are working on the FTL effect, and have some effects in development.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the FTL effect in-game. It'll be very cool to be playing and then see the flash, and have Gaeta come on the radio shouting "DRADIS contact...Cylon basestar...and MULTIPLE CYLON RAIDERS!!!" Just like the good old "Incoming jump signature, hostile configuration," only, you know, better. :D

There\'s too much confusion,
I can\'t get no relief..."

All of this has happened before...

Don't listen to him! The content suffers when they're drunk.

Instead, threaten to withhold all booze until it's done. :drevil:
