Sorry...but if we give a release date, one of two things will happen:
A) We miss the date, the anxious fans are upset and betrayed, and lose trust and faith in us, tearing into us for taking too long on 'this' or 'that,' assuring us that getting that FTL effect just right isn't all that important, and to go ahead and release SOMETHING.
2) We make the date, but because we rushed what we provide is lower quality than we want to give everyone; the anxious fans are upset and betrayed, and call us half-assed losers, tearing into every little shortcoming, shortcomings that occured because we rushed it; fans point out that they would have gladly waited a little longer for the FTL effect to be perfected, or for sound editing to be smoothed out a little more.
III) Yes, like George Lucas' movies, a game is never finished, but abandoned. However, we the team wish to have as little 'abandonment' as possible. Rest assured, every day you must wait for release is another day to perfect models, textures, storyline, interfaces, sound effects. We are striving for perfection here; the fact that we are operating independently, not-for-profit, and without deadline means we free ourselves to focus on every little detail, leading to what we hope will be one of the greatest space combat sim experiences in the past decade...surely the best BSG sim experience to date!
We appreciate your enthusiasm...we feed on your excitement; it sustains us. We also appreciate your patience and vigilance during this process, as we battle College, Work, Family, and Real Life to do something we truly enjoy.
When is the release? 'When it's Done!' But not in a Duke Nukem Forever way...will that game EVER see the light of retail day?!
Thank you again for your support, enthusiasm, and vigor!
Good night, and Good Luck.
