Help needed for a newbie
« on: March 01, 2006, 06:55:04 PM »
Hello,

I'm trying to join a multiplayer game.

I've done every step in the FAQ sticky. Registration worked well. I can login at the FS2NET Acces Point webpage, and it displays my ID with empty fields (kills, assists, etc.).

On to the FS2.exe part. I've installed/replaced the various needed files and set up the configuration (Launcher, PXO login and password, etc.). When I click 'Start or Join a multiplayer game', here's what happens :

'FS2NET something' (very quick)
'Validating Table' (quick)
'Logging In' (quick)
'Getting Pilot Stats (30 sec timeout)' (about 30 seconds)
'An unknown error (probably a timeout) occured when trying to get your pilot data' [OK]
'Requesting Server List' (quick)

Then I get to the multiplayer main page, which remains desperately empty.

Any help is appreciated.

Michael

I got the same error, when i connected the first time... When i started a game and played it through (by myself), it never appeared again.

That the screen stays empty may be because there are no games hosted at the moment... *g*

Yep. I don't think you're doing anything wrong other than logging on when no one is online.

FS2 Online is slowly becoming more popular as FS2NetD and PXO become more and more stable but it's not quite at the stage where you can be certain of finding a game whenever you log on.
