Can you be more specific? You just bumped my old thread instead of PMing me...
:)  I feel a little Deja-Vu now.

Ah well it was bumped with good cause ;)

Deja-Vu??? Or did it already happen................

Just wondering was this ever completed, or did it get scrapped, or still a work in motion?

It's still on, but put on hold. stardragon's known for never letting go of his projects, which in that case is great!

(you may quote me)...

Milkshake is working again and I spent all Sunday & Monday transferring my old shipyard folders to a safer drive. I just went from Dead stop to dead slow...

Good too, I always dreamt of fighter combat in the trek universe.

Do you plan on putting in every designs from the starfleet command series?

What about later races (borg, cardassian) and phantom races (hur'q and their kam'jatae as seen in star trek invasion for PS1)? will you include them too?

I just got hung up on a Rakelian and MIrak/Lyran pair otherwise I'd show a screenie (awesome).

Even though I am the only committed member, I had a basic idea for a loose campaign based on TMP, DS9-Voy, and Nemesis eras.

Somewhat of a spoiler, the key events each era will focus on are: The ISC invasion, The Dominion War, and post Nemesis threats...

Some common arcs will appear cause they are timeless and logical (pirates etc..)

Trek has so many ships it's insane so selection will mainly be limited to what I have already converted but need to get fnished off plus what ever models I failed to convert that an expert can (LIKE THE F-ING SORTEX!)

Ahem, sorry...

Anyway, throw in a few Easter eggs and some stations for atmosphere and basically that's it. Each race era has a handful of fighters. Emphisas will be on STORY.

While fighters exist in Trek, they are BARELY covered post TOS Era... and Sorry I dislike TOS era greatly. Carry over races from that era that are in SFB/SFC series will be mentioned or represented.

How about a GORN pilot transfer program? (just one example)...

That's basically the mod in a nutshell.

Many of the great modders from Trek games have signed off their work, however cannot or will not commit more than just existing resources for this project (and realistically I am just grateful for that!!!). For this mod to continue some 3d people will have to step forward that have FS2 modeling experience...

Yeah most people would consider that whining, but it's also the truth. ;)

Work... Me? Must have me confused with soemone else.. ;)

The props all go to the people I listed above...

I'm going to "cheat" for the video and fly it as a BOMBER  and do some sick stuff to other caps for my fanfiction tie-in...

Speaking of cheating, since I don't know how to UV map I butchered this mostly raw model and replaced the placeholder textures with something I am halfway happy with for now...

It's a Kitbash WIP as I deleted the normal nacels underwing and changed them to another pair of guns liek the outside wing ones (4 now instead of two)...

Name/usage pending: By Unknown Warrior...

and speaking of valkyries, star dragon: take a look:

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=9W2cnN6mFi0

notice the hur'q ships in the end. those killer dreadnaughts might be superb to battle in an FS type engine. furthermore, story is quite exploitable, leaving room for lots of ideas on the ressurgence of the hur'q or battles with other races/factions.

I've never played it....

Furthermore I've never heard of anyone successfully extracting a ST:I model.

I have a low poly Valk, Shrike, and an Oriion fighter made for SFCIII but AFAIK no other game models exist.

Same situation with Shattered Universe (DAMN them for making it console only!). Never playe dit, but did research it on Google a while ago.

In other words I am open to everything, but you need to find the modelers to make them first...

Why do we always have to be short on modellers? LOL

I recieved this from red 13: a talented trek mod creator:

Howdy, Starlord.

None of the models we used for the modification were actually ours; instead,
we collected them from modification sites for other Star Trek games: Armada
II, Starfleet Command, etc. Doing a search for 'Armada II mods' or
'Starfleet Command mods' should point you in the right direction for getting
excellent ship models.

Good luck with your modification!

Regards,

James

Perhaps this'll help, if those models can be converted to pof.

NO... At least not the ARMADA II mods

See the .sod format is encoded to NOT be able to extract (DAMN THEM!) The community made that tool to protect their works so even if a permissioned author allowed it you STILL need to have them send you the non sod files...

I already have contacts in the SFC and BC, KA communities and since those are ussually superior models I don;t rally bother with A1/2.

I've been doing this for like 5 years now.
