So anyways let me say re-introduce myself. I am/was a modder for Bridge Commander, I am experienced with texturing (particularly computer displays). I have also been teaching myself to map recently so im prety confident on simple models.

I have been around here before however real life caught up and i also go addicted to Bridge Commander.. however trek holds no interest for me any more (community seems to moan at everything) and I am really up for BSG.

Hi, im new to Freespace in general and I have no real way of helping you out technically or finacially. But I do know quite abit about the new Battlestar and If you need clarification on Battlestar weapons, general tatics, etc. just let me know. Also thanks for doing this, a Battlestar Galactica video game for the re-imagined series is long overdue and would do the show justice.

Sooner or later we're going to want some scripters. We had a couple applicants, but I don't remember who they were, and I haven't gotten anything back from them in ages. (a PM dig may be in order)

Nope scripters as in working with the new lua scripting system. Basically so we can do things without code rewrites all the time.

That doesn't look TOO difficult... where can I go to see if this is something I can handle? I took a year of beginning C++, and that code is easy to decipher.

Granted, it's only rendering a string, but still...

I can do scripting or rather i'm using it already.. and i could most likely find time to do those for the BTRL as well. Though it ought to be noted that i havent yet started to use WMC's new scripting system... only the older one with mn.getShipByIndex() stuff...

What do you mean a PM Dig? Do you need writers anyways?

Hey dudes/dudettes,

I think I'm ready to get back into the swing of things again. How does an offer to help out on the scripting again sound? (So ... I know what you're thinking: what makes this time any different from previous? Well, all I can say is, let's start and see how it goes)

And that snippet looked pretty straightforward. There must be a lot of gruntwork/janitorial-type/housecleaning stuff that needs doing, so perhaps I can help there. (I'll be back online in the late morning EST after a dental appt.)
