at the expence of a copule of polies, could you make the pilot visor clear and have the face be behind it, as a bumped out kinda /\ inside of it?  ive got an idea (i dont care if there's transparency issues, just do it and have the face as a separate texture)

Edit: oh, and there are asymmetrical armor plates on the spine of the Galactica, see if adding those won't raise the poly count too much

And if my computer can take it, so can yours... Yes, thats 3 tillium asteroids... (plus 6 Vipers, a Colonial Mover, and the Galactica [she still kills me fps, too many textures])

My fps seems to drop like a rock when guns are fired.  Otherwise they hold at around 30-40.

Methinks we need a less detailed Galactica.  On that note, is she scaled correctly?  She looks awful big.

one source says 4.6KM, another says 3000+feet lol... i dunno which is moe acurate.... but the bitch is still around the 2click range.... so regardless or not, i think (as in the main-schfi-website says) shes a 4.6km whore. ^__^

Ok, for model progress,


Astral Queen, 95% completed, waiting for textures. Polys: 6,700


Celestra, 47% completed, got most of the main body made, but that is about all. May have pics up by tommorow, Polys(so far) 4,300 (Should hit 6,500 by finish)

Can someone begin the Colonial 1. It is crucial to our campaign. I'm busy finallizing the existing models and texturing Sikotik's meshes.

Once that is complete, I must get started on the Basestar. Stithe2000 seems busy with Star Wars Project. Technically, I should be working on HomeOne for that project.... I know my priorities. (though it should be bill paying work)

I did a fresh install of just FS2, no bsg models/sounds/etc.  My compilation has the engines stop firing upon constant velocity....but it crashes roughly 10 secs after you reach a constant velocity (as in when you stop accelerating from the start of game)

I wont be home for the next 5 days
