WinXP not letting me install FS2
« on: December 17, 2005, 01:53:33 AM »
I had to uninstall because some files had become corrupted, but after putting in the install cd, I get this message

c:/windows/system32/autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

I think this is because of service pack 2, because I had installed this games under XP before. If anyone knows of a way to get xp to install this, I would be grateful.

There's definitely a solution to this problem, but I've forgotten it. I think it might be to move the file, but I'd be hesitant to do that since it could be important.

If noone else responds try re-asking here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/board,7.0.html

You do indeed need to move the file.
