Well, Goober's new experiment just proved that the mission choice part can work pretty neat :D

As for weapons buying/selling, it's entirely possible and plausable. In fact, if you wish, I can create a mission for you with exactly that (but i'd need variable names which you wish to use throughout the camp that will store the 'cash' value), and it'd be pretty neat too :D

Oh, and storing cash and accounting is somewhat simple too. Just keep one player persistant variable that you keep adding cash to. For accounting, displaying the _actual_ number value of the variable might be a problem, as their is no direct way to output the variable value to any sort of text on the screen.......you'd have to go about indirectly, with certain values and increments (say 500 or so), and a message connected to the value closest to the current one.... OR....you could have it such that items in the 'shop' would only manifest when a player had enough cash to purchase it......

Yeah. I mentioned how to do that in one of the first threads about persistant variables on HLP. The problem with this method is that you can make it possible to buy weapons using the allow-weapon SEXP but once you've bought something you've got an infinate supply of it.

Goober's Team Loadout code may make things even more interesting though :) With luck that will allow you to buy a set quantity of a weapon. So that you need to keep buying trebs if you want to use them. Otherwise you get nothing :D

Hmmmm.......true, quite true indeed. Is there a SexP that removes weapons from the allowed list? If there is, it would be usefull to remove the weapons after 3 missions or so, since they would run out...

I'd imagine that asking for a remove weapon SEXP would be a little pointless since Goober is the only SCP guy who ever codes SEXPs and he's the one doing the team loadout stuff anyway. It would be better to do limited ammo that way anyway. If you don't use trebs for 3 missions why would they suddenly be gone in the fourth? :D

uh, yeah. have you seen SCP? the graphics are five times better than Freelancer. Besides, Freelancer sucks anyway. Gameplay = boring. FS2 = better. Better gameplay, and AFAIK it's much more MOD friendly.
