Tmp2 / Can't pass planet in background Cries of Metis.

This game is awsome. I've spent quite a few hours on it already.
I can't wait to see the final product release.
Have you guys guestimated a price yet?
I've flown enough sims and actually let myself get caught up in the physics debates enough to know its always best to model for gameplay than realism.
Realism - fly for hours of seeing nothing but clouds then shot out of the sky in a few seconds...
Gameplay - spawn near the destiniation , actually take some damage and dish out a little as well through multiple manuevers.

You would not beleive the garbage that actually ruined some games because of people crying the loudest, while everyone else was too busy flying the game enjoying themselves only to log in and have the fun factor removed from the game. Then the guy that screamed unsubs a week later with some other fit.

Tmp2 / Major hitches in second mission

You did uncheck the spectral in the options didnt you?
I had the same thing until I unchecked it and I am running a GF 8800 GT 512 MB on Ultra Drivers.

Awsome on the padlock. It would help considerably with the AI performing at hyper motion speeds at times with the missions. Some of these missions I just find it impossible to take down the AI. Once I get a little more experience I wanted to try and see why they seem to be flying much faster than the craft do when actually piloted.
Although admittedly if they glide often then the speed automatically jumps up on the MkII and the Raider.

Thanks Freelancer, I found it.
Is there any way to print out the complete list of options and descriptions?

Sci Fi channel is really boring the frak out of me with these reality ghost story shows.
Horror I find the lowest form of entertainment possible.
What is wierd is how many kewl series that SciFi has had on, and they never air again, they just play these wretched low brow shows.

I have no problem at 1680x1050 res 32 bit color.
I did disable specular because it was doing that periodic hitch.
Still trying to find the cockpit view though.

Wish there was a padlock feature for locking my visual head tracking onto the target.
But, other than that I'm just trying to find the right combination of keys on my stick.
If the controls allowed me to use one button like a shift key so I could do double assignments it would be pretty kewl.

The TrackItIR has me intrigued. I may have to get one in a month or so.
Also curious about the Matrox 3 monitor expansion add ons.
But that may be over the top, I'll end up with $1200 in LCD's lol!

Tmp2 / Joystick mapping?

I want to change the axis used by the game.
It's flipped wrong.
My rudder twist controls roll and my x axis controls yaw?
Its totally messing me up with 10 years of Air Combat sims behind me.
Nevermind, I had to go through the menu's better.
I got the axises flipped fairly well to what I needed, now I am just trying to figure out the views.

Tmp2 / Problems installing the patch with windows Vista

OK Thanks Kara,
Been about 6 or 7 years since I used IIRc.
I'll get it here shortly since it seems the favored use of this community.
Thanks again! I can't wait to see this thing....

Well I got it running and the graphics are terrific.
Its taking me some time to get used to the views.
I wondered if it was possible to pan the views with the joystick hat switch.
Also, how do I get the cockpit view I saw in the TrackitIR demo?

It was the installer file, its installing from the second download.
It already installed on my XP machine so I tested that one first.
Do I just use the updater in the folder for the patches then?

Nah the actual installer Kara.
Had me stumped so I am going through downloading again.
Thanks for the response, I wanted to cry when it didn't work lol!
Actually that may have been the whole problem. The new download is 379 MB the first was only 314 MB
I'll keep you posted. I have to figure out which links are for the patches yet.

OK, I am stumped.
I tried the exe on both an XP and a Vista machine.
Nothing ever happens clicking on it with the XP machine, with Vista it goes through the UAC junk, I set compatibility mode to XP SP2, Run As Administrator, etc...
Unblocked it even. Still nothing happens, I never find a process running for it or anything.

I have not gotten the full download yet.
But in my experience, you usually have to go to the folder the program is running from,
Select the exe's and give them administrative permissions, also set them for XP SP2 compatibility mode. If you have UAC turned off, it won't work at all.
UAC sux, its a horrid beta security interface everything is good or everything is bad, no customization possible with the horrid permissions pop ups unless you disable portions of it. Hopefully the SP1 will finally address the fact people bought PC's to perform repetitive tasks for them, not feed them back!
