Okay, missions 1, 2, 3 and 4 look pretty good. I need to plan for the big climax that is mission5. I expected to have given up by now so I didn't plan much for this.

The poly count can be easily reduced once you arrive at a decent mesh. Trust me, don't worry about that just yet.

Um, no it doesn't. Unless I've missed something ? :)
Takashi is probably using the Max Face counter set to count polys, as apposed to triangles. :doubtful:

Meh, crazy docking doesn't work anymore :/ And I'm getting another "hang" when an Elysium docks with a Satris :/

edit: ah, found more is-iffs were knocking about. Cleaned up the docking orders and that seems better too.

I wouldn't worry too much about poly count while your still learning. Try searching for sites like 3d palace, 3d cafe etc or "max tutorials". There are loads on the web. From your pictures you look to have a fairly good grasp of it though.

It's something we're not supposed to have it (this is going back to the early Descent Manager days) so it's not avaliable widely.

Probably not, though .MVE is still Interplay IP last I checked. IIRC that's why it was removed from the FS source code. I doubt if Interplay can afford law-suits anymore. They might be interested in how AK managed to create an .MVE though.....:doubt:

I was able to provoke the problem again. In this case, it seems to be something to do with the "is-iff" checks I've been using. Not to worry though.
Some other possible issues occured to me so a quick redesign has been done.

I was able to scavenge it by deleting all the events in fred.

The Max-Pof editor is being peculiar so I'm just gonna whack an Arcadia in place of the Asteroid Base.

Mission1 has been odd too. No errors, no CTD, just hangs when you comit to the mission after briefing so that'll have to be redone :no:

are you sure it's a good idea to use the name "Ferrium" again ?

some people may react badly to it jus tbecause of the name.
