Robotech Freespace MOD II / Awesome!
« on: November 08, 2004, 01:43:02 AM »
I just canít get over how badass this MOD is going to be! Imagine commanding 30+ alphas on an attack on Reflex point with 80+ Invid mecha. Massive battle.
Or how about the Force of Arms where you, your wingmen, Breetai and the SDF-1 all take on millions of Dolza's ships! There is much potential...

Why I was just thinking,
Ultimately we could shoot be like The Babylon Project and have the MOD and game engine all in one install package so people donít have to worry about already having Freespace 2, they can just download the package and play it. It would also increase our fan base because we could practically call it a new game. We could just post a link on and they would probably announce it on their website and we could have people by the bucket load joining. To my knowledge there are no other 1st person space combat games based on Robotech, they are all 3rd person. It could be very popular.

Of course this is all just phantasy for now. Maybe once I learn to be a better coder (when I finish comp science 3) I could implement something like that. It would be a ways off, but still possible.

Also, try a different browser or turning your firewall off.
If anyone else has this problem, let me know.

EDIT: Problem was on my end. Should work fine now! Stupid default settings said JPEG pictures could only be 80X80. Now they are unlimited.

News / Site Files
« on: November 07, 2004, 03:38:35 AM »

Files from Game Warden have been pulled offline temporarily because of
 1. Hacking Attempts
 2. Massive Bandwidth Usage (10 mb/s!!!)
 3. Other malicious activities
If you would still like to download these files please post a request here. They are currently only available for registered forum users only. It will be this way until I figure out some way to better regulate downloads. Web space will still be available to anyone who wants it due to the fact that it doesnt take up near as much bandwidth and is less likely to be "violated."
Hosted files are, and always will be unaffected.
Some examples of files that are stored:
 Freespace ISO's
 Robotech Episodes
 Freespace VP files
 Freespace tools and editors
 Freespace Movies
 etc, etc, etc
EDIT: No danger to site. Just a little abuse trouble. Some may call it hacking.

I see you added the buttons to the RT forum, they look better in place then I thought they would (NICE). I have been pimping around a little but mostly I frequent the other gaming sites.
Any suggestions as to what types of projects you want to host besides FS ones? That would help narrow down some places to leave word at.

Pretty much any game that is Sci-fi based would fit well here. I wouldnt hesitate to host any really well deserving project though. Thanks for your help with the advertising though. BTW, if there are any style changes you feel you need to make (colors, sizes, etc) you can change them via Admn control panel.

Just upload them as an attachment to the forum (zip, rar or something as such). If you dont want anyone looking at it you could even password the file. FTP even. Whatever works best for you.

You gotten those buttons done yet? It would be nice if I could put them up this weekend. Still, no rush though.
I have been advertising for the Robotech MOD everywhere. Hopefully we may have some more people in our ranks soon.

Thanks :)
Relatively no bandwidth limit (I doubt we could exceed 7mbps). I run the server from my house.

If anyone is interested in some webspace or FTP space I can certainly hook you up.

News / HLP down, possibly for an extended period of time.

Just let me know when you have finished the buttons and I will apply them to your forum. I am hoping that by the time HLP comes back up we can have all of these style issues taken care of. No rush though.

You can change ur title.....Go to user control panel and look for it.
I diddnt fix my partition, i jsut scanned it with "getdataback 2.20" and got everything worth saving and reformatted. It actually turned out not that bad because it killed whatever kept eating my partitions. Windows runs like 800% faster now.
