I've noticed that although sidethrusters are very powerful in normal flight, they become much less so in glide mode. This is unfortunate: why aren't the sidethrusters equally effective (same accel) in both situations? I assume it's because of some quirk with FS2's engine, but can anything be done about it? Are there any plans for fixing it at some point?

EDIT: Just checked, the same issue exists for rear and forward thrust as well (although it doesn't seem nearly as pronounced for forward thrust).

EDIT2: Correction: the forward/rear thrusters are less powerful if $use newtonian damping is enabled. Otherwise, they are more powerful. This is the only difference I notice from changing the "$use newtonian damping" flag.

Just wanted to say thanks and awesome work on the demo! I can't believe how high the production values are, and the combat is absolutely perfect. I look forward to eventually playing the main release!

Tmp2 / FS2_Open 3.6.10? (And other questions)

I'm getting some funny display artifacts for background stars, suns, and HUD targeting boxes. They are shifted out of place in a funny way. After a bit of research, it sounds like the new 3.6.10 version of FS2_Open fixes these problems.

1. Can I use the 3.6.10 RC in BTRL? Do I have to do anything special to install it besides downloading the exe and changing the target in the launcher?

2. Are there any other BTRL missions or campaigns available for download anywhere? Is there a specific place that's good to look?
3. Are there any other FS2 mods using BTRL's flight mechanics? You guys got it absolutely perfect. This is how I think every fighter-based combat space sim should play, and I want more! :D
EDIT: 4. Is there any reason to use OpenGL over Direct3D? Or visa versa?
