Freespace 2 MODing / FS2 3.6.12 Cockpit mods

So, I recently found out how to edit .tbl files, and wanted to see how I could change the standard FS 1st person view from that blank view to one with a cockpit.

I've found this thread on HLP: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=71151.0 but I can't input cockpits for ships in WiH, and someone who offered an attachment for War in Heaven, the FS2 campaign I'm playing through right now, had that attachment ninja'd, or whatever that means. I've got standard FS2 and Blue Planet cockpits working, but I cannot figure out how to get them working for War in Heaven. Any help will be appreciated.

Those are one of the designs for ships in Area 6. Aren't they? If I was flying that Arwing, they'd already be dead.

I'm doing the installer now. I just hope, because I manually did most of it, that it won't fuck up anymore. I get nervous when delicate stuff like game files are involved. Hell, this even happens to me when I edit characters in MUGEN, still just as nervous.

I need some help. I just downloaded Silent Threat: Reborn, and I want to install it so that it runs fine, and wont do anything stupid. Is there an installation guide for FreeSpace mods for morons? I don't want to fuck anything up.

Since you're all posting stories about how you became fans. I might as well tell you of mine. I got my N64 on my 8th birthday, along with PKMN Snap, I got SF64 a year later in 1999.
 
I remember being scarred my first time playing, because of the (extremely) large flying monkey head at the end (easy path) LOL. I must've enjoyed it, because later on, when I bought Adventures, I found myself having fun again. The obvious lack of Arwing action was a dissapointment, overall it still was a fun game.
 
In 2005, I picked up a copy of Assault, and played through that. It was like a complete overhaul (of '64, but better) of my old favorite game. I saw this project on YouTube last year, whilst looking for Assault cutscenes yo use on a never-made video.
 
This project is what got me into FreeSpace, and I am happily awaiting the opportunity to experience this game, once it is completed.
