Tmp2 / Invincible raiders?

I just played a Raider Gauntlet with 2 other BSG9 folk, and there was one instant, where I flew about 20 to 30 circles with a raider that did not move laterally (did not turn) and flew at constant speed, in a circle.

So, basically, I was ablet o get in a flight pattern where my sights would hover right around the raider and I pressed the fire button continously, and let out a stream of lead (or whatever they use for rounds in BSG).

And, I heard that rattling sound that I thought you got when your bullets made contact with your target. I'd get it every 2 to 3 seconds, for a few seconds, every revolution for about 20+ revolutions.

In other words, I poured at least 500 rounds into this Raider, and nothing happened.

I had a 250 ms lag to the host.

Now, there is something seriously wrong with this scenario.

Unless, that rattling sound, has in fact nothing to do with you making contact with your target.

Or maybe it's just impossible to play this game above 30 ms of lag.

Either way, that was not cool ;)

I think I heard someone say it only takes 8 rounds to kill a Raider....by the rattling sound effect and the sparks on the raider, I must have hit it with at least 500 rounds, as I said.

Yep, unfortunately the only effective weapon at 100ms+ is missles, and that you dont get much of in btrl. This is one of the reasons people bombed a lot in FS2, because fighting required a good ping, and since everyone who played was scattered accross the globe, most games were 200ms or more.

I wasnt talking to you, dumbass...

Can people please read the thread before posting? Saying your sorry because you refuse to read the thread doesn't really give you an excuse to repeat something that has been said by 20 other people who refuse to read as well. Atleast skim through it so you have an idea of what has been suggested...

There are very few things I can help you with because I try to avoid Mac's whenever I can, but heres a few things you can check to make sure everything is working.

  • When you go into multi player, does it check your tables? (If yes, skip the next question, If no, skip the third question).
  • Press F2 and click the multi tab at the top, is the PXO light on?
  • Do you have a FS2Net login? (If no, the next two quesitons are irrelevant, skip to the last paragraph of my post).
  • Is it saying invalid login?
  • (If yes) Is your FS2Net login entered below the PXO light?(If both questions 4 and 5 are true, go back to your email that FS2Net sent you, remember your password and login and re-enter them into the fields below the PXO light in the game options under the multi tab).
If you need an FS2Net login, go here and register. Then, go into the game, press F2, then the multi tab at the top and enter that login and password in the fields. Ignore the squadron field, it does absolutely nothing. If this did not help, then your gunna need to ask someone who is familiar with Mac's.

ok i looked around for one that was virtually the same price but pci but couldn't find it

You need to check your motherboard to make sure its PCI-E compatible before you spend the money on a PCI-E card. AGP Slots are typically brown, and PCI-E 16x are typically blue or black and regular PCI slots very, but on average are white.

hey, its just an option.  maybe even a "switch on burst fire" for newbies who havent learned how to conserve shots, or for pros who want to look hard-core with perfect bursts!

Pros dont need fancy addons to look hard-core. All a pro really needs is basic FS2 flight controls. Pitch, Yaw, Banking, Accellerator, Decellerator, and Afterburners, thats all you need to kick everyones asses. Glide really isnt neccessary if your any good. :p
