Shadows of Lylat / Can you destroy planets?
« on: October 15, 2010, 04:14:45 PM »
I had something on my mind. Since the planets in SoL won't really be planets, but rather ships made to look like planets, could you blow 'em up if you shot them enough?

Shadows of Lylat / A word of thanks

I've created this thread so that everyone can take a moment to personally thank the dev team for the long, hard work they've been doing over the last... like, 6 years or so, ain't it?

Basically, thanks guys. You've put your own time aside to make a potentially great game for us. This game could be better than anyting we could've asked for, it could be a mega-let down, steamin' pile o' crap.(although I sincerely hope it is not) Regardless, you've hard for a long time, and although it is not yet finished, let's all give the dev team a "thank you"

General Discussion / Steam=CRAP!

On all my new games for my PC, they have some internet program that comes along with them called "Steam" So far, it's been a pain in my ass.

It caused major issues with MW2, I couldn't even play Empire: total war, and now, it's telling me it's gonna take 4 hours to download an update for Supreme Commander 2. I EVEN WENT TO STARBUCKS AND IT WAS MOVING AT A SNAIL'S PACE!...that game cost me sixty bucks, and now I probaby won't even get to play it.

Is anyone else having difficulties with Steam?

Shadows of Lylat / Who is responsible!?

Alright, there's no denyin' it, the SF series has gone down hill. This thread is to discuss when, how and why, and to talk about how they can be fixed and how they could've been avoided.

Also, you can consider this the unofficial beat-it-up thread. So feel free to bash any of the games as long as you give some sort of reason for your opinion.

Shadows of Lylat / LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND mastuhs.

Ok, the name of the thread will make some sense after watching this.

Now then, onto to topic of thread.

Which do you guys think is best, 64 landy, or Assault?

I like 64 better. It's faster, has a more rapid rate of fire, better reticule, IT CAN ROLL TOO.

Btw, if any one can provide pics of the two types and post them, I would appreciate it.

Shadows of Lylat / I've noticed a trend.

In the 'about me' part of every one's public profile, you know the 'favorite animal' thing, and how after you click on the edit button it changes to 'what animal would you be?'. Well this thread is about the trend that most people either say 'a fox' or 'a wolf', at least has said 'a coyote'. The thing I'm getting at here is why do so many people pick a canine?

I mean, I wouldn't want to any type pf animal, not even for a day. That's just me though. Also I think I'd lose the intelligence to comprehend what'd happened.

Now an anthropomorphic one? That's another story. Until yesterday, no really, I didn't want that either. Then I went out to stalk hunt wild boar in 27 degrees farenheit and now I want to be an anthropomorphic husky. Just for the sake of having the fur to keep me warm. I also suppose it'd be fun to have the enhanced sense of smell and hearing, and the tail would give me better balance, but that's about as far the appeal goes.

I can also think of some pretty bad things too.
1) I'd be a social outcast.
2) I'd be scared of losing my color vision and good grasp of depth.
3) Wouldn't my snout get in the way of my scope?
4) I'd probably have trouble chewing.
5) Worst of all, my girl friend doesn't like dogs too much. So the prospect of having an anthropomorphic dog for a boy friend would probably cause her to dump me.

But the question is, why does almost every one pick a canine? Is because most people here's favorite game is SF? Furthermore, people seem to have a weird connection with canines in general, they're the number one pet on the planet. So, why is it that when we think of what we would like to be besides human, we pick a dog?

Also, what the he-double L is 'what animal would be' doing on the user profile for a PC gaming profile?

Shadows of Lylat / I wonder...
« on: December 18, 2009, 12:19:04 AM »
... just how far do the characters in Starfox animal sides go?

Can Fox bark? Does he have sensetive ears? Does he see in black and white and have poor depth perception?

Can Falco screech?

Does Slippy go ribbit? Can he change gender when the opposite sex is absent from his immediate area?

Can Wolf howl?

Does Andross like bananas? Does he sometimes go 'ooh ooh!'?

The list goes on.

Or did they just make 'em anthropomorphic for aesthetic appeal?
