Tmp2 / Battlestar Poseidon:Non game model
« on: August 13, 2008, 05:46:46 AM »
I've been picking at my own Battlestar design the last few weeks.  Since things on the Nu series have not worked out for me on the model front, I've decided to pull back and do something just for me.

The fin on the bottom is a legacy feature from my earliest sketches.  I can excuse it's existence as a hull cutting ram.  But it also seems like a phallic element.

I'm only posting this here.  I'm not too interested in putting this out on the CG or model building forums.  I would just like to get any feedback from you guys that might be constructive.

I don't know if you guys have seen this yet;

It's super sweet and shows some interesting ships are in the fleet.  The Nostromo from Alien is in there.  And Sulaco from Aliens as well.

Just found some more while linking to this post;

Is there any way you guys could use this guy?

I'm blown away by this hangar model.

I found this on a routine image search.  Is a sweet cache of images.

Tmp2 / Want Battlestar Galactica model kits?
« on: August 10, 2007, 03:45:45 AM »
On the off chance that some people here are model builders...

A friend of mine pointed out that Revel's new owners have a suggestion page.  So if anyone is interested in any model kits from the new Galactica series I would suggest writing them.  It's stupid easy to fill out too.

Here is a PDF of my MKVII drawings.  I still need to lay out the graphics but it's mostly done.

Tmp2 / New RTF ship references

I just nabbed some new RTF renders.  I posted them in this directory in the server:

/ renders

There are some really nice shots of the Colonial Movers ship.  I guess it's been gussied up for some close-ups for season three.

Tmp2 / MKVII over at LW3D forums

Here's another project you guys might want to look at:

I have been following this one for months now.  I don't know why I didn't bring it up before.  This guy could be of great service to cut scenes if he were interested.

A fellow at Sci-fi Meshes has made the Colonial Rag Tag Fleet as low poly models.  It's got quite the wow factor to it;

I thought since I was granted privileged access to the Dev section of BTRL project, I would reciprocate.

I have been picking at plans for a 22.5" long resin kit of the Nu Galactica.  I already produced a small kit and have posted progress pics of my CG version.  All of which were means to an end.  A large desk model of the Galactica.

I have a section of the Galactica's bow mocked up.  There are some problems with it that are serious enough to make me have to start over.  But the section shows that I am definately going in the right direction.

I'm not posting these pictures anywhere else and I am in a stickier situation that the BTRL team is in because I am in direct competition with license holders.

So here is what I have so far;

Tmp2 / MKVII mesh at Lightwave Groups
« on: February 23, 2006, 02:00:54 PM »
Check out this thread at Lightwave Groups.  This is a fan based mesh of a MKVII that really looks just like the studio version so far.  This guy is good.  Although I doubt he would release the mesh, I am sure we could get some nice orthographic renders of it.

Maybe an invite for later cut scenes would be in order?

Tmp2 / Rhino Galactica

Rather than to continue to hijack Omni's thread here is a new one for the work I have been doing on the Galactica.

I need to think about how I can make this usefull for the mod somehow.

Here are the guns I've been adding.
