i desided to play around with the idea of makijng new robot textures for d2xxl. and i quickly realized that i could turn out about 5-10 textures every night . well i worked all night and managed to get the 30th done before the morning sun washed out my contrast ratio. theese textures may be downloaded here http://www.game-warden.com/nukemod-cos/robot_textures.zip

now we all know how fond matt and trey are of bsg. they brought it up directly in an awards thing of sorts. but i was just watching the episode "lice capades" and its just loaded with bsg related stuff. its full of referances. evil vice president, kneecap shootings, the love intrest of the main lice character is named kelly and has a larva named hope, the lead louse has a slight accent and sometims he pronounces the name cally, also the names start with the same letter. theres many more i forgot, but ive seen references in other episodes as well.

heh i found a dev rom of the never released starfox sequal. i didnt know it existed till i stumbled upon it reading up specs on old consoles. its rather cool, you can get it here. runs quite well in zsnes.

FS2NetD / rc7 multibugs

i noticed a couple bugs while i was playing multi tonight. i wasnt expecting them but they happened. one was a player selected and weps configured. but aparently his ship was swapped with an ai ship, resulting in him getting the wrong ship, not the one he configured. i think it just a version incompatability.

anyway i wasnt expecting to find any bugs and i figured now that im playing netgames perhaps i can get you guys some debug info.

i have a few questions though:

is it safe to use debug builds with regular builds?

also when a bug occures, what should we do, quit playing and gather up fslogs and errorlogs or whatever, or continue playing and see if they persist?

can i set up a standalone server in a debug build?

also this seems a sensible place for bug reports, for players who dont frequent mantis or hlp.

Freespace 2 MODing / model/effect dump

i finally cleaned out my nukemod modding dir. i found a couple old models, an old heavy bomber/gunboat, a gunbarge, both modelled and uved (and poorly too as they were very early models). also threw in the old version of my pyro gx its uved. the old chaos (which im getting rid of for good, so this is the last chance to get it). got several turrets too, some textured, some uved. got some ani explosion effects which nukemod no longer uses in favor of effs. got my old 3d shockwave which i no longer use. got a shitload of pcx effects and beam textures. also got my old projectile models, not sure if anyone has use for them.

heres the most recent version. animations should work now. added hipoly littleboy and stinger. vwep gatling guns completed. pirate vessels now have external hardpoints for warheads. and of course bugfixes.btw this runs best on scp 3.6.9.

sence im too busy to work on the mod at the moment i thought id put out an unoffitial nukemod release. its just whatevers in my nukemod directory and thus the most recent version. there are several bugs and some features like the animations dont work. but the models kicks ass. anyway have fun :D

i seem to have had good luck getting my linux machine to run freespace. so this is gonna give me a chance to test cross-platform. still need to get cvs working so i can compile newer builds (as of now the tables are compatable with new builds only and not with the 3.6.7 release). also sence il have to compile, im thinking of making a few code contributions as well. also according to wmc i can now do cocpit gauges with scripting. but of course all that will get put off til i get a more current release out.
