Yeah, it's the software sound that's having buffering issues.  Any quick fixes for that?

Most like an OpenAL issue.  Try running the game without sound enabled and see if that prevents it from BSOD'ing.  If it does then we should be able to walk you through a fix of some sort.

Okay, it seemed that the problem was the sound driver.  I've at least gotten into the menu, but the briefing started having buffering issues (skips and such), which really detracts from the (wonderful!) voice acting in-game.

The sound card in question is a Creative Audigy 2 ZS.

I just installed the demo (been looking forward to it for a while).  Unfortunately, when I hit 'run' from the launcher, my computer routinely BSODs with no discernable message (no specifics other than 'your computer has crashed').

Windows XP SP2
Pentium D 3.0 GHz dual core
NForce motherboard (which has given me no end of trouble)

more specs available if necessary

What software/tools did you use to make that?  I'm very impressed with the results if it is a mostly synth piece.

I'll also second the comments above that it sounds awesome.  The percussion in V2 might need a little bit of tweaking, though.
