OK Guys

I'm impressed with the kill tallies, but much like they tell the nuggets on BSG, the score isn't everything.

We're talking about working as an integrated unit, not a group of random guns. Random guns cause accidents, random guns get their wingmen shot down because they're more interested in how many stickers they can get along side their cockpits.
We will become an elite fighting force, able to work as parts of the whole.

We are a wing. We are Squadrons. Squadrons work like one body, with precise control not madness. The brain (Sqdrn Leader) either consciously or unconsciously controls his squadron during a fight. The other parts of that body either respond to signals, or instinctively know what to do. This puts the Squadron CO's in control. That in turn puts the CAG (or mission leader) in control. Then, when everything goes wrong and someone's in trouble, no-one comes home thinking "damn we could have saved them if we'd only been following orders, patrolling where the boss told us to, rather than chasing another kill".

THAT, ladies (are there any? hope so) and gentlemen is what we are trying to achieve.

I'm spending this weekend starting on formulating the first training sessions, so don't expect anything to get posted esp regarding a training session calendar until mid next week. Some of you are probably going to find some of early bits boring (formation flying etc), but the drill and repetition is the best way to learn. We'll get to the good stuff when we've all mastered the basics.

::Slowly Claps:: That was one of the most thought out, well written speeches ive ever read on these forums. Now i'm really looking forward to getting things rolling.

we all agree to just forget the whole thing?

Not to be a wise ass here but kinda hard to forget when the posts are still in this thread......might want to have someone delete those. Its what i like to call a military coverup.

frak it, my hair is completely torn out, I'm throwing myself out the airlock...

In all honesty, I'm sorry to see you go, Respenus. Like I say to all members of the 58th who have left, just send me a PM if you change your mind later on and I'll go ahead and bump you to the top of the list.

Good hunting friend,

i call throwing you out of the arilock, since Gulo can do it to me, i feel like i should do it to someone. :biggrin1:

Your a good guy Respenus, i'm sorry to see you go. You shall be missed and remembered. ::Salutes::

Thanks KypFisto - agree with your responses there.
Probably a little steam to let off in there from me but I think all the points were valid.

I agree that trying to get the mechanics of military flying right (esp in a sim) is going to be tough. But then, aren't we all in this squadron to be something other than just casual players? It might take time, but it's a good challenge for us to try and strive to.

Re TeamSpeak - I agree. The 'ceasefire' incidents just go to prove this.

If the ranking officer for a mission/training sesh is known in advance, maybe he should
a) include his name in the game description so we know it's the right one and make himself known in advance. That includes where a Sqdrn CO may be leading a training session but there are other captains taking part. Therefore the session organiser has authority over the captains, as far as the session orders etc.
b) make himself known in the chat screen and as soon as he arrives the pre-briefing chatter is cut and we have attention on deck! (not unlike the real thing no?) He can then rollcall and assign teams etc.

These are all very valid and reasonable fixes. When these "hot" fixes are done, were gonna be the best wing out there. I just know these things.

Anyway you guys rock!

I just thought i'd pop out of the bar, say some encouraging words, and then.........go back to the bar. :)

umm Gulo i'm gonna most likely need you to walk me back to my rack later.
Thanks in advance:wtf:

Don't stress yourself out, Chief. If anybody's gonna airlock anyone its gonna be me. can watch though

What Gulo is trying to say is that you can watch him throw me out of the airlock Chief, since i would be the one to go if he decided to do it. :cool1:

Finally a thread for the nuggets to ask their stupid questions, and for someone calm and collective to answer them. :cool1:

Yikes another sqd leader leaves us. Well on a positve note....we will no longer have to deal with two similiar callsigns "Smoke" and "Smoker". Now we'll just have "Smoker".

Not sure what Capt. Gulo or Major Lightning want to do about this but i guess as the chief said, userfriendly is in charge for the time being.

Only downside to command is all the paperwork you have to do. so :ha:

Nice nice, i was getting sick of all the fraken questions regarding ranks. Glad someone cleared it up.

whoa...wait, a sec... a green Ensign goin up against Capt. Gulo...are we even allowed to do that?:eek2:

It is not recommended since Gulo is quite dangerous and now that im back with him and on his wing.....were very deadly together.

going by positon on new list, ive been reassigned home here with good old green as an ensign i beleive based on position in list.

Ignore above post, ive been reassigned and demoted.

your signals suck soldier :ha: At least we'll use the chiefs.
