Shadows of Lylat / What's up, what's down and what's stationary

I must say I'm quite disappointed, I've waited patiently for 7 years just to be told it was for nothing. I'm not blaming you guys on the team, I understand how life tends to get in the way, I'm just sad to hear that such a promising mod won't see the light of day as it was first imaged. Thanks anyhow fellas, it's been fun

Hi, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post and I'm still getting used to exactly how forums work, so anyway...

I play blazing angels on my wii and, oh my gosh, the controls are so aweful and uncoordinated. It's like you just shake the plane around with your guns screaming bloody murder hoping you graze some guy, AND THAT WAS WITH THE CUSTOMIZED SETTINGS! Ugh, I shudder to think about that happening to SOL.:squeeze:

Blazing angels is a crappy flight sim anyways, the plane flies in the most un-realistic manner.

I had already mentioned that in a later post, but as I also stated, both Zoness and Aquas are implied to have civilisation on them, thus their proximity to Corneria. Mars would be significantly colder even if it's atmosphere was exactly the same as Earth's due to being (This is from memory, so don't quote me) almost another half as far out from the sun. Mercury is over 400 on the day side, and it has no atmosphere, plus green house gasses tend to be things like CO2 and Methane which aren't very healthy for animal consumption anyway.

The point I was trying to make is  that distance from the star is not the only variable to take into acount in this situation. As for Mercury it is in a different class of its own, it is so close to our sun it is being cooked, it also always has the same face facing the sun which I'm sure helps keep it at such a high temperature seeing as it never gets a chance to cool off. CO2 may not be good for animals but it is necessary for plant life, and it is still all around us seeing as everything we burn, our breathing, and mother nature her self put's out CO2.

Hey everyone!

  • 5. Aquas. The planet is a water planet, so it can't be too far out without turning into ice. Further more the life rich planet would need as much warmth as possible to keep its waters warm enough to support life.

  • 6. Zoness. The water vs ice issue again.

  • ?. Sauria. To be quite honest, no bloody idea. it states that it's "on the edge of the Lylat System." but the temperate climate and the in-game views suggest that it's much closer to the sun.:confused1

Here I come you evil space hag!
How close a planet is to the sun isn't the only thing that determines its temperature. the thickness of the planets atmosphere and what kind of gasses it is made of play a large role in that too. Mars is a good example of this, its atmosphere is only 1% that of earths. Because of this most heat and light cannot be traped by the planets greenhouse gasses making it very cold.

I found this on arwinglanding about three years ago and became a member of the forums about two years ago. I like the Nintendo games, but I've played all of them more times than I can count and I would like something new to try. Also SoL looks completely awesome anyways! :D

Suggestion from Todd McCloud from the OTG Star Fox board:

"We've seen stars, hollowed-out planets, space sectors, and the like. We need to brainstorm new ideas.

how's about a forested level?
A level with a combination of space / planet?
a very, very mountainous planet, the kind you see in new flight simulators?

space and planet for the win! I've always wanted a level were you go from space to planet.

7: katina

Fox doesn't "meet" bill at katina, thats when he first sees him again after flight school. I think.

A small gameplay preview. Don't take it too serious. It's just a test.

I'll not upload it on the FTP, as the BtRL demo caused enough bandwith problems for GW this month.

Suffers the typical problems all my videos have.
Bad compression, no sound... no sense. ;)

:eek2: I love it, At about 1:28 in the video when the capital ship explodes is probably the coolest explosion I've seen in a video game, ever!

Fuck CSI. Fuck CBS and it's focus on a single unsavory aspect of a community. And fuck everyone who takes it at face value.

christ, tad touchy aren't we? I understand why you'd be pissed but that kind of shit happens alot...
