General Discussion / Funky Saver (School Project)
« on: February 21, 2010, 06:52:31 PM »
So let me get this straight you are writing a screen saver that will test the limits of your video card and probably require HD access.  So while saving the monitor it will be burning up 2 other components and creating heat.  Brilliant.

I'll stick with either blank or even better the power button on the monitor.

FS2NetD / help me cant register..

I'm guessing it's not taking into account that .gr is a valid extension.  You could try getting a gmail or other account and using is for registration until this can be looked into.

Any ETA on FS2netD?  Multi is just getting going strong again hate to start loosing players because they think it went the way of PXO.

They should have just told them you have 2 choices.  Leave or take the place of the pigs.

General Freespace / FREDding time
« on: August 04, 2009, 07:24:19 PM »
All depends on the mission type too.  Doesn't take much for the average dogfight where you don't need to worry much about briefings and not at all about debriefings.  TvT's usually aren't that complex either although I've been working on some twists that usually end up finding new code bugs.  Coop is harder in some aspects then single but easier in others.  For instance you have to worry about how x number of people can mess things up instead of just one.  You don't have to worry much about complex dialogue and cutscenes though.

My time is probably longer then Kara's since I usually cause the problems that keep him from FREDding.  :D

Wow might as well change the topic to FS2 ships.  Where are the options for ships from other mods and total conversions?

Support for 3.6.9 was dropped awhile ago.  You need to get 3.6.10 which became final yesterday.

Do you have a multi.cfg file in your data directory?  If so try renaming it or deleting it.

Well as far as I know this software only worked with 3.6.9 and 3.6.10 RC3 is now the preferred version for multi so it would be pretty useless anyway.  If you haven't tried it the lobby is back.

FS2NetD / I have a question about LAN playing FS2
« on: April 29, 2009, 08:48:02 PM »
Get FS2_Open 3.6.10 RC2 if you don't already have it:  http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,62210.0.html

Create an account on FS2netD
Set up your username and password by hitting F2.
Rest should be automatic.  It will say connecting to PXO even though it is FS2netD.

Well if you want LAN only then it's easy.  Launch the game, select multi, hit F2 and turn off PXO.  When you get to the game list someone create a game and the others join it.
