Title: Keeping things going
Post by: TESLA on June 11, 2009, 05:40:06 PM
Is there anyway this forum can be kept alive,
or we just going to let it die a slow death, with random posts????

Just curious..................................

I think there is nothing that WE can do. It is on the developers side to do something. Nothing new in over one and a half year. As i see, most of the people are already left this forum, and i think the reason is the missing information. Some new pics of new things or such would help. Thats only my opinion and i think this will be deleted like many other threads in the last time.....

honestly I think the one thing that might keep this forum going is just to revive the game. I played the hell out of it but there hasn't been anything new in ages. they could just re-release the demo with some more ships. maybe even the current galactica. not even with missions. just have them available in FRED

Or so. I would really enjoy more stuff for the demo. I played the demo so much hours and i enjoyed it ever. But even the best thing gets with the time boring.

Id play online, but my broadband has recently been reduced to 'bog-band' because of updates to the communications networks in my area. Very annoying!!!!! Better be fixed soon, of minister of communications going to get a punch in the face!!

Well, considering the main page doesn't even link to the forums anymore as far as I can see, the only people that would be here either posted before the site redesign or who frequent the GW forums anyway.

In other words, the number of people here is only going to get smaller.

Not necessarily. I've seen a few (And I do mean a few) new posters asking questions about problems with the demo.

It does seem people still stumble across the forum.

It would definitely be nice to see some signs of life though.

Maybe if the BtRL's devs post a couple screen shots or some few news on whatever they're making ..

Anyways, the only cool BSG game man can touch and play is BtRL; so this forum should not be dying, IMO.

Just my 2,2 cents

Hello,  i indeed a new player in this form. i have tested the demo and i realy have to say i like it. although some things should have been changed if posible like the grafics of jumping out.. (its not realy tough to do...) and maybe some more ships should have been added in the release.

as far as this forums servivablity is concerned, well i came by this forum becouse i was LOOKING for a BSG space combat simulator. that means other BSG fans will be looking fro it too.. however to increase cerculation and thus increase public awarness for this TC so that the creators get a move on and finish soneer rather than later, ass many of you should post links to this forum in other sience fiction forums.. or anywere else for that matter..

P.S: sorry for the poor spelling, not a native English speaker.

I too have been patiently waiting for any kind of update. It's been nearly 6months. I'd be happy just knowing its still being looked at.

I love this mod. Wish they would go ahead with the Capships though. That maybe why there is a drop off.
The game needs Battlestars. Not for us to support. Just for eye candy.

nah, not necersairilly,  I can live without in-game cap ships. just the occasional update every 3 or 4 months might kep people around more. Also, as this is also a BSG forum, there being no Battlestar on TV anymore has meant a drop off in visitors

So, Empire magazine makes a list of the 100 greatest games ever.

FreeSpace comes in at 74.

BtRL is mentioned as being the standout mod for it. AGAIN. Seriously, whenever FS2 is mentioned, BtRL will be as well. That's the impact your little Demo release had. People keep asking about the "dead" multi scene, and you know what? I believe some of it is your fault. People come here, expecting to find a vibrant mod, and a supportive community, and what do they see? A forum that is filled with tumbleweeds, and the howling wind of promises unfullfilled.

yes

"Yes"? That's your response? Just "Yes"? After months of nothing at all, except the summary deletion of nearly every thread asking about the future of this TC?

So, please, Omniscaper, in your infinite wisdom, would you see it fit to release more info about the current progress?
