I think you guys could really needcell shading. AFAIR you used it a long time ago, right?

As much as I wish we had you to help us with images or textures I am greatly against cell shading. It was horrbile in Robotech Battlecry, and insult to western gamers as VFX 1, 2 and Macross 3 broke new ground and put the Japanese (only) consoles to the test for years (I found the intro's on the web). My goal was not just to recreate the feel of the episodes, but to make it the best looking possible within first retail, and then later Basic SPC limits.

While still paying homage to the anime source, the point is to bring it as close to RL or at least CG level as possible. To go cell shading route would be a step backward (unless you know of a technique or proceedure to make cell shading look something other than "cartoony").

Personally I'd love to see a cell shaded game. I don't have the time to do it though.

Comic FS might be an intersting project... ;)

You could do both you know. Cell shading is supposedly pretty easy to do. All you'd have to do was have a special mv_cell.vp and tell people who wanted it to download it.
