yeah. im sure some of you may remember me asking how to mod a few times, right? well, it wasnt for SoL. its for freespace 3. now the demo is in progress (at last) and i could use mor eof a team to get past just that. i could use...


another modeler
another FREDer
permission from axem to use the cretheus and lamia in the game (as official appearences)
another table coder
a story writer (prefferably a dedicated fan who believes in carrying on the greatness of the game, and not goofing it up.)

(it is prefferred you have either finished the main freespace 2 campaing or are already spoiled about the story by screwing around with missions in FRED or by reading too many walkthroughs. cant be spoiling people about the story!)

i cant make a whole sequel by myself, you know.

Actually HLP would probably be your best bet for getting this project off the ground.  Most of the Devs on GW are already hooked into mod teams, those obligations precluding them from jumping to help.  HLP on the other hand has a much wider and more experienced FS2 community as opposed to GW which attracts just as many people interested in the mod content.  I'm willing to bet if you start a thread and post some of your ideas for plot, ships, and skills you will get a much better reception.  I know a lot of people really want to see how the story is continued and HLP is your best shot of fulfilling your objectives.

Ok, it is just asinine to make a project and call it "Freespace 3". Nomatter what you do, whatever you call it, it will never be FS3, because you are not Volition. What makes your campaign have a right to be "FS3" and not, say, Inferno?
That, and from what I've seen of you work and attitude, you have nowhere near the level of skill or professionalism to get anything major done at the moment.

besides, official freespace 3 wil only come when interplay gives up rights to quite a few file formats AND the game. (aka, never.)

you may consider helping some of the other projects here get through completion before you start up your 'freespace 3' project. most people dont wholly support new projects (lately, as the fs2 community has shrunk) unless it is an entirely new concept that people are eager to help out with or if they know what you are already capable of completing a mod and they know you know what it takes to get the job done. My advice is to put this on hold for a bit, get some experience, and then start production. I am sure you are more than capable.

lessee... cant FRED for SoL because i dont have the ships and weapons, cant FRED for anyone else for the same reason. i cant UV map either...

Most of vets on Hard Light are vets over here too. So it's not like he's getting much of a different response. There's just more vets over there to tell him off than there is over here.

Was it Vengence that just went through the FS* ringer a little while back? (poor guy). I think he recovered well though. :D (Hurricane!)

The search button here and on HLP could enlighten you a bit about how people would react to your "mod" in regarads to those initials and the prospects of joining/encouraging it.

But pls continue, I think we're all pins and needles... ;)

Tweaking? Takashi, you don't "tweak" that entry - you basically rewrite it. There's practically nothing in there that's correct. I suggest you take a look at the Freespace Wiki over on Hard Light to find out how to do it.

I think some people should grow up, the guy wanted to make a mod. Who cares what the name was or what the story was, at least he was trying.

Geese sometimes i think the internet is only full of kids (I'm referring to those that abused the idea, not those that gave constructive criticism).

An example of abusive replys:

People keep coming back to it and thinking it's current even though if you look closely you'll notice that this was all over months ago.
